Is that a threaded BB finally?!? Looks like it to me (but not super familiar with the Shimano line).

maybe it uses a dh size shock? could make sense for an enduro racing rig. Zeb up-front looks to be atleast 180 mm too...

Looks like the same number of turns/coils as the shock on the WAO Arrival 170 just posted, which uses a 65mm stroke...

zooming in on the image you can see BB tool splines as well.

If you look at the shock body the coil itself is way longer than it needs to be. Pretty sure it is 230 65

With the Yeti on the same page, the Meta suspension looks quite similar (except of course for the infinity link of the Yeti that is a normal link on the Meta), do you think they did this to avoid broken coil shock due to high leverage forces with the longish yoke on the current kinematic ?

About 99% sure that is a 250mm shock, not a 230mm. So yeah, unusually long (- it's the standard DH-bike shock size).

It could actually be a 250, yeah.

This is a 230 mm shock in an XL, a big one at that, frame (mine):

Though with that ZEB being a 180, the shock doesn't look THAT much bigger on the other hand too. And without going to a 180 mm frame it makes little sense to go for a 250 mm shock.

Maybe they're running a longer shock to use a very progressive system?

Old capra had a very progressive linkage too with a 250x75 shock and most people preffered it with a coil shock

How about that Rocky Mountain ride-9: thats what we're drooling about here but those microadjustments seem to get little fan fare once they are in the wild.

Having sold lots of RMB full-suspension for a couple of years, the Rocky Ride-9 gets left in "neutral" by the vast majority of buyers, and slammed into lowest/slackest by almost everyone else. There's always one guy who climbs in one setting, busts out a multitool at the top of the hill, and then descends in a different setting. I think his name is Gerhard, maybe Dieter, I can't remember, but he wears full lycra with short-finger gloves and can make the switchover in less than 2 minutes.

I'd be surprised if they went down to 150 of rear travel from the current bike's 160 but time will tell.

Even more so with a shock that massive. Though Commencal does have a lot less travel in the rear compared to the front on most Meta variants lately...

FYI - Commencal secretly released a part of their 2023 range. Check their webpage. No new bikes, but new colors and spec.

Better pic. Good, Commencal don't need any extra complaints.

This is an interesting looking "Float X", and the branding is mirrored too...

(It looks like they've just used a 3D model for the old Float X?)

I see machined chainstays and seatstays, parts like a yoke and dropouts to make said parts.

The main BB basement has a hole on one side which could be a link or shock mount. A shock mount is located under the seat mast area.

6 bar with some lower swing link?

Hard to imagine where the extra link would fit...
