But here's what I have from trying to un-tangle all this...
GIANT = Beer (Nick Beer)
Scott = Long Black Haired Guy (Connor Fearon)
Mondraker = Horse (Cam Cole?)
Sunn = Kiwi (Blenkinsop / Brannigan / Brook / Masters Brother...)
Intense = Yeah Boy (Sam Hill? Palmer just claim he was a bad m*t***f**k*r in a Dirt Interview and praised him)
KTM = Kangaroo (Troy Brosnan? Mick Hannah? Bryn Atkinson?)
SRAM/TLD = Needles
Norco = Neko Mullaly
YT = Danny Hart
Also, Sambo seems to be the only guy without a line drawn to him....
Heart to Sunn
Neko to Intense
Troy to Sram/TLD
Ragot to Scott
Blenki to Norco
Dale to KTM
Needles to Mondraker
How'd I do?
Surely with Brosnan and Gwin being so close this year they wouldnt let Brosnan go? plus its not like spec cant afford them both.
With such a big budget both Giant and Scott must be looking for a top 10/5 rider or maybe even 2 in the case of giant.
with palmer in charge and intense saying they want some top US talent, maybe a duo of Mullaly and Shaw might be on the cards?
Bruni and is it Vergier? are both top riders and french so given the choice you would retain both and let Blenki go.
Given KTM's euro roots maybe Beer would be their choice given that hes only from just across the border, maybe Peckol as well as he is austrian so that would leave room for mongdraker to sign a top rider
(just kidding, but really)
I think the only other conclusion to be drawn [#rimshot] from this is could be Beer to Sunn, Heart and Dale to KTM and just Cole on YT. Look at the trends of the teams on there, and consider who likes to hangout with whom, what bikes fit what bikes fit certain riders' style, etc. But, this is like fantasy league - it's a guessing game, and in the end, we won't know until we know. But it sure is fun in helping fill that sad, lonely space now void due to the WC season being over.
Connor isnt leaving Kona, he's been a Kona kid for far too long, his roots are planted friends. Hill is going where the pay check is, Giant unless Peaty and Minaar retire, then its a new Syndicate without a doubt.
Spesh is gonna hang on to Troy.
The brothers Masters will most likely end up on the same team, Norco is an easy sell for family teams.
Ragot will stay on a Euro team, she isnt done unless the doc's say so, she wants to beat the youngsters to bad, she will be on KTM if they dip their feet into the sport and she will be the only one because they want an experienced racer to fix their bike for the market to get it going.
Blenki needs a bike under him that is fast enough to win on, he will end up on a team like Giant or take up the open spot on Spesh.
Those are my predictions.
Also think Sam Hill will stay in CRC.
If im Lapierre boss ..i will keep french guys together ..so maybe Blenki ..will go ..
I bet whole trek is going to change a lot ..
And Connor is going to stay in Kona unless they bring someone else ..
And Troy ??? Pretty not sure about him ..
You'd think a little guy like him could use a more nervous bike.
Then again, maybe Danny is riding so nervously that it helps him ride more composed - or whatever Danny's equivalent for that is
He is usually very good in quali ..so its maybe matter of time ..when he is going to win again.. just being nervous in finals ..and when he is more exp. rider ..its going to be ok !! :-)
Maybe u r right ..he may be better on different bike ..which one u would prefer for him ??
But still ill be surprised if he will leave Giant ..:-)
In the very unlikely case of this happening, I hope Neko stays true to himself and doesn't turn into one of those cocky assholes.
There's more than enough of that among other riders.
Am I making that up?
He had his day and he changed the sport and I have so much respect for him doing that and he's all every young racer back in the late 90's wanted to be like, that clip they released showed he is as stiff as a board on a bike and the skids just to throw some dirt in the air did not impress me I actual thought it was quite embarrassing. I can't see him bringing anything to a team or younger riders as all he did was drink party and spit the dummy quite a lot.
Hill does not need that in his life right now he's so close to being back on top, a change of team and bike is not really what he would want surely, CRC will/should be able to match any wage anyone else offers Hill.
