That pivot looks higher than snoop Dogg.

It's a Forbidden, not a norco.
Badges are similar.

I think it's a Forbidden too, I watched the story and the seat tube looks a lot like a Druid one and more importantly it looks much different compared to the Norco downhill/super enduro/whatever prototype we saw earlier this summer.

SC is promoting this bike with digital ads on the Vital homepage now. Still not sure what the angle is but I did find the bike: http://dirtynomad.com/gear-rant-santa-cruz-nomad-3-review/

That's my vote, based on norco's minimalist/painted badges of late. Def looks way more like a Forbidden badge.

Yeah, might have been a bit too quick to dismiss it. The angles of the photos are such to make the forbidden fit as well without showing any details clearly enough to be able to quickly differentiate between the two. Quite the opposite, it makes it seem like it's the norce at a quick glance (seems like the shock is hidden inside the frame, while it's actually not).

interesting bike/enduro/all mountain from norco in magnus mansons story:

That’s 100% a forbidden you can tell by the way the shock is mounted, the shape of the top tube and swing arm.

If my memory serves me correctly. I think a patent lawyer had a proper look at the Shimano patent and concluded that they were only patenting the low friction lubricant. So the 14 speed gearbox functioned as an example use case not the idea.
Really? Excellent so they might still be working on something that doesn’t look so shit?

Most of the new bikes are the real deal. As for the new nomad, I lost interest at 650b.
Now let's see that Nuke, that Norco, that Forbidden, that Cannondale...etc-etc. SC can go and shove up their $$$es 180mm 650bs.

Who could have guessed it would have a 38/zeb with the current SC suspension design rolling on reserve wheels... but probably 10mm longer, 1 degree slacker and 10% more progression with a slightly steeper seat angle?

that headtube area looks super ugly compared to the nomad4, like the 5010. all my opinion of course Wink geo looks on point, but 1mm adjustment on the chainstays is a joke :D

It's probably the result of a flip chip on the sock altering the leverage curve or something like that. Making the chainstays adjustable by 1 mm does not in fact make any sense. I doubt most riders would notice anything less than a 20, maybe even 30 mm change in chainstay length.

EDIT: yeah, checked the chart (didn't before as it was on the previous page), it's a high/low thing, so the result of a flipchip to lower and raise the BB apparently.

My fancy isnt being tickled with this new Nomad release. But whatever, I'm sure they will sell a million of them no matter how it costs. And a lot it does

Dual uprights on the rear triangle. Size specific chainstay lengths. You seem to have some animosity towards Santa Cruz. They are not nearly as exclusive as you have made them out to be in your mind.

When a bike is launched that doesn’t fit my needs or is from a brand I’m not crazy about, I don’t rag on it online. I just don’t purchase it.

Point on the dual uprights on the rear... But anywho, were the exclusivity comments aimed at me?

I’m not ragging on it, I’m just a bit disappointed because the nomad has always been a bit of an iconic bike and SC has just given this new version the face-lift treatment, but then again, I guess V3 nomad was the big move across to the new platform and they’ve got to get some mileage out of it...

Also whatever happens to the Nomad tends to flow downhill to the rest of the models which in this case doesn’t really give me much to look forward too
