Jeff, slow people don't need heavy tires, strong wheels, or real brakes. This, in turn, makes their bikes much lighter.

Since the inception of the EWS, there's been only 15 male winners. 6 of those have only won a single race. 6 of the 15 are retired (or at least not racing most of the calendar). So you only have 9 active winners, 6 active repeat winners. To suggest that these are the only riders people have heard of is ridiculous. Furthermore, in terms of reach, one of those active, repeat winners has less than 10k IG followers. Another has just 21k. Cody Kelley has 2.5x more IG followers than these two COMBINED. And in terms of actually selling bikes...

"the rug isn't the issue, dude" If KC was just cranking out cool-to-him edits on his own dime, whatever. Like it or move on. That isn't my point. I was inundated with this storyless yawnfest on FB, Insta, and every media outlet. I don't blame them, the media outlets, they are just keeping the lights on, but Canyon is supporting this guy, and this type of work. I have a bone to pick with that, and I have a reason to do so. Again, its my point of view, but I like to think bike riding is less the cool...

Can confirm: that riding hurt our feelings at ROBOT HQ. If you're Canyon, why would you send this guy instead of Braydon Bringhurst in Idaho? Or one of your Canadian racers in BC? I think I'd rather watch Jeff ride, even.

I really wish mountain biking had some sort of "draft day" where all this shit is unveiled at once. The slow trickle of news is making for a really anti-climatic feeling to all this.
