So two in XC Brazil and then Europe. Not even a fake Europe destination in Canada anymore?

Blimey that's quite the read . Have I understood that right ? teams can have up to 10 riders but they can only enter 4 in the race ? If so I'd like to volunteer my services as the 10th rider , free bike and kit without the pressure of actually racing . The Scott Carson of mountain biking . The reference to outside industry sponsorship in How teams get chosen leaves me uneasy , seems ripe for abuse .

I think it's likely the Visma WT license was kept, and the Quick-Step license is sold to whoever has the money.......

I am a massive fan of Luca but how long do you get to keep a “factory” ride and not win?

Yeah, I've seen plenty of comments about the poor Worlds coverage, and blaming ESO/Discovery....... The Worlds organisers are to blame; it's their gig - and while Worlds coverage can be hit or miss, and is usually miss. I recall Rob apologising for the poor camera positions in Val Di Sole a few years ago. The camera positions weren't great here...

Just FYI- ESO has nothing to do with the organisation of world champs.

We knew it was coming, but still sad to see. I'm afraid I think we'll see a few more of these announcements before the year is out.😪

Having DH, Enduro & XC all under one Promoter needs looking at. I'm not sure it works.......Ski-ing is an example; you don't see Downhill Alpine in the same venue as XC, do you? They are under the FIS banner, but run separately....... And Enduro seems to have been trashed to fit into the new deal; get it back to what...

Trouble is for 99% of the course a gravel bike would be more suitable.

Makes a few interesting points however conclusion of "It would be hard to believe that the UCI would willingly give up control of the broadcast" is exactly what the UCI did when they partnered with WB/Discovery. The UCI signed an eight-year partnership with Warner Bros Discovery to organise, promote and hold the broadcast rights of the Mountain Bike World Cup from 2023 for 8 years. UCI writes the rules, regulations and controls doping while WB/Discovery does organises, promotes and broadcasts the world cups.

Almost all the big teams are European though. If they all disappear, there's no teams. You can't make that change overnight without losing the whole sport's infrastructure along with it.

The expanded series if done overnight is a disaster for the smaller teams. I think we'll see many more than Madison planning to exit. They need outside money, and to share it more broadly if they're going to have that many stops.

Since when is the iXS cup a "feeder" series, it's a standalone business that has never needed to be propped up by the governing body. I know forum hounds love to bag on the UCI at any turn, but as someone else said. Local government pulled their end of the funding, so Pohorje dropped the event and iXS had no alternative. How is this in anyway the UCI's fault? iXS run a race series as a business. UCI just provide commissaires and a rulebook

If I was Team Manager for any World Cup rider, I'd be pulling the plug on this race. A simulation is very easy to run to understand take off speed, approach angle, landing angle, etc. You know, physics? Should never be up to a racer to guinea pig random napkin engineering. I feel bad for the riders. On one side Disco is Dumbing Down the races, on the other RB is Dumbing Up with builds like this. Race injuries due to line choice is one thing, but I don't want to watch a rider get concussed because of a poor...

Another what happened to the hard-line natural Welsh gnarlyness comment. It looks like something where you'd see Evel Knievel thumbs up getting loaded into an ambulance.
