I'm really happy that he made sure to be there with the team to BE PRESENT FOR THE FANS. It cannot be overstated how valuable it is for the US fan base to have him at the track, in the pits and available to the public again. Good on you Gwinner. The US fan base will remember you making the trip & joining them in the celebration of DH World's return to US soil.

Gwin has been plagued by injuries that he’s downplayed for several years consecutively. He hasn’t been able to charge and as a result, he hasn’t been a major player recently. People have a short memory. He Dominated for several years only losing a race here and there. if he could get healthy, he could contend again for a few years. I do think his experimenting with smaller and less established sponsors every year hasn’t helped.

Vital RAW from ews was never a consistent thing, and the slideshows from the events, while always epic, just didn't really have much traction the last year or two. every athlete and team is reporting via Instagram, gmbn has the official rights to video stuff, so there isn't a huge incentive to add to the pile, even though sven and boris' reporting and photos are the best there is. sven did a really rad insta live stream on the Vital MTB account from king of the pits. his phone died before he could save it and make it permanent, LOL...

I’m aware of the base settings, I’ve tried 10+ variations of setups I’ve seen people recommend, all seem to have very little effect on the initial 20/30% of the travel being harsh in comparison to other forks I’ve had/tried. It feels as if way too much force is needed to even start compressing the fork. I’m pretty sure it’s nothing to do with setup at this point and it’s something Internal that could be faulty etc. I would like some time on a shockwiz but that’s not going to fix this issue, cheers tho.

Hey Guys, another update. Austin was one of the first people I called after getting hurt. We're buddies and talk/ride together fairly regularly. I let him know what was up and wanted to confirm that he was staying in Europe for the next month like I thought he was. He's racing Maribor this weekend and isn't planning on coming back home until after the WC in Switzerland next month either way. That was good news as he's easily ready to go if I pull out. I also contacted USAC to make sure they get him everything he needs to compete...

all speculation based on webcast, not real life, in-person experience --- did this race make anyone think that the high-pivot thing is a significant factor? sure seemed like a lot of riders not on high pivots lost time between split 3 and 4. on camera that section looked super fast with big hits and not a super gnarly pitch. like all the bumps added up to hundredths and tenths being sucked away if not on a high pivot. it could purely be about fitness and strategy and not the bike, but hey, this is the internet.
