I can't disagree, but we should be excited that Snowbird is seeing the value in mountain biking, and get excited that this could lead to bigger things from them. The terrain that is available there could lead to incredible things, so let's speak up and encourage them to not give up and help them get better!

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate for a second here since there's a lot of assumptions and blind hate toward Giant. There are other possibilities for the lawsuit being dismissed than Giant being an evil Goliath. Maybe DW's claims of patient violations would not have held up in patient court as DW originally thought so he dropped the claims. Maybe the cost of litigation and the time fighting was not worth even the best possible outcome; this would likely have been true against even a small company and is not specific to a large company like Giant. The pricing on the cassette seems like a lot to charge for what they're offering. It's easy to see how the XX1 or X01 cassette, machined from a single block of steel, would be expensive. But they're charging just a bit less for what is mostly a conventional cassette that happens to have a few extra teeth. I just don't see the justification for a $313 msrp for this product.

How cheap does it need to be? It's $662 without the cranks - which most people don't need because you can just run a N/W ring on whatever you have. I think it's pretty amazing tech for that price.
