How is that not patent infringement? The judge said that ABP and SP use "differing leverage rates and shock technology." If leverage rates and shock technology are the differentiating factors between pivot designs in patent disputes, then how on earth did Specialized defend FSR for 17 years? Obviously "leverage rates and shock tech" are not the only differentiating factors, or even significant factors. Pivot placement is pivot placement.

Don't know the guy, or maybe I know him just as well as anybody else here - who doesn't really know him. From what I've seen, he's talented, has guts, passion and was invited to Rampage. I don't think anyone else commenting here was invited? His resignation is more a reflection on everyone else, rather than him. I think it took more courage to make the wise decision. Yes, too bad he came all that way and backed out. Too bad for who though? Maybe people just assume how "easy" Rampage and big mountain is. My opinion is that its...

Hey Scott - I'm 30 years old and used to live in Utah, I've been to the old site and have walked around it. I have followed Rampage from the first year they did it when I was a senior in high school. I've been riding mountain bikes since 1996 and I'm not a hack... well I'm still a hack. I just don't want the wood features to become a slippery slope and are required to hit to win (regardless of what the judges say). Also I'd hate it if riders felt that they needed to hit any of them...

Having hiked the course last year, know that there is WAY more natural terrain to cover than the relatively little bit of wood you see here. Plus, the Icon Sender now sends riders 3 ways, rather than 2, which actually opens more options than last year. Personally I'm for it. The handful of wood additions allow the riders to focus more time on the rest of their lines. They only have 3 days to build this year with 3 helpers...

9/23/2013 1:01pm and which comments about medium wheels in the slideshow had to do with a santa cruz or enve? SC didn't even run medium wheels in any DH race this year. loic running 650b wheels to 2nd place is worth noting considering there were hundreds of DH starters on 26-inch wheels. if someone did well on a gearbox bike or uranium frame, we'd mention that too. sven editing captions at 3am is not thinking about how he can hype up a wheel size.

9/23/2013 1:00pm there is no wheel size conspiracy going on here. no person or company is pressuring or paying vital or its contributors to say anything good or bad about wheel size. if there are captions about wheel size, it is because the information is relevant or noteworthy.
