Not everyone riding an ebike is heavy and needs a big battery and the burliest parts. I think I could get away with a very light mid to full power motor and a mid 500-600wh battery on most rides. So my bike doesn't have to be heavier than 22-23 kg ready to ride. I think the weight of a frame...

I wanna see the Avinox system with a removable battery. The Levo gen 3 can get down to 21 - 22 kg with a removable 500 wh battery. The new Bosch system comes close with a 600 Wh battery. The Avinox system should be a bit lighter, even with a removable battery.

Bikes that now have heavier, more expensive wireless shifting, that not everyone wants.

That press release and video contain an awful lot of words whilst avoiding mentioning the weight.

I'm no scientist but if the width is round (the casing) and it's flattened won't the contact patrch end up wider than the static measurement? Especially if the knobs also flex out. So, if the radial is doing what it's marketed to do, a Maxxis measuring the same static width would have a narrower contact patch than a radial. That's how I understand that the secret sauce of the radial is meant to be.

I just installed 2.6 albert radials with the gravity casing on 30mm rims and without measuring (yet) I can verify that they are small

I also will try the albert in the spring. Magic Mary is probably one of the most versatile tires out there but it means that it tends to feel a bit mushy on hardpack. Like the front wheel drifts a little all the time but if you're used to it its ok because they hook up predictably and don't loose...

Getting caught up on this chain.... Coming from the classic Assegai/DHR II for SoCal riding on an emtb I saw radial tires were on so many " 2024 Best Of" listings I had to try them. My research, direct from Schwable and what I read out there didn't make the choices easy since there's some conflicting information and not a lot of exisitng tread paterns available in radial. I ended up with a MM up front and Shredda rear in the back, both 2.5, super soft and gravity pro. Once in hand it was clear the tread pattern was not...

I can't measure anything and I ran the radials on an ebike only so far. So hard to gage rolling restitance but the radial tire is way louder on asphalt. But hard to say if this is an indication that its rolling slower. But it kinda sounds like it would if you would run a supertrail tire with not enough...

Anybody rode supertrail vs radial in the back back2back? Idk if I should switch to radial in the back too but I worry that the grip might be too much and rolling resistance too high on asphalt.

The new casings that come with a radial layup (TRAIL PRO and GRAVITY PRO) provides a noticeably more compliant and damped ride quality when compared to the "Super" Casings (Super Trail, Super Gravity). I've found rim strikes and burping to be far less prevalent on the radial casings (adding +3 psi more than i would on the Super casings).

Knockoff how exactly? Because it has 2 chain pulley wheels? Because it has a lower cage that extends and takes up chain slack and is spring loaded and clutch damped? Because it makes the chain go up and down the cassette? Because it attaches to a rear derailleur hanger? This has to be one of the weakest "It's just a cheap Chinese knockoff" accusations I have ever seen. About the only thing it shares with SRAM is it's wireless, and so when Shimano finally steps up to the plate in 2025 with their true 100% wireless rear derailleur, I guess...

Yeah, the levo would probably be pretty close if the battery was non-removable aswell. A quickly removable battery will always add like 0,5 to 1 kg. But its neccessary in some use cases, especially when you're on the road.

It's actually quite amazing how far ahead the Levo was when it was released. In my eyes, its still competitive with the Amflow. Amflow's are not quite as light as some of the early reports. Sam's with a 38, a coil & gravity Schwalbes weighs 50#s in a size Large. That's still 5#s more than my XL Relay, also with dual coil suspension, 1 gravity tire & pedals and tools on board. I'm still looking for the free lunch but have yet to find it. My plan is to buy the E-Druid, but I think it'll weigh 48#s once all...

The Levo used to be the full power emtb benchmark apart from reliability until the amflow came around so ideally it would be close to the Amflow but with a removable battery. But chances are specialized didn't know about the Amflow in detail and it won't match its specs. So far rumors say it will have the brose and 48v...
It happened. And you shouldn't really do that in a campervan anyway or it will smell really bad in no time. You should fry stuff outside or at least leave the side door open. But it was winter and he likes to cook... I mean if you check thr extractor hood at home you'll notice that its covered in fat...
The tiniest amount of contamination will significantly reduce braking power. Maybe there is a tiny leak from oil on the pisons? Or some cleaning spray? Try to degrease the caliper and disk with isopropyl alcohol and try new pads. And break them in properly. I also once got contamination over night after I mobilized the pistons and put a bit...
