What a day, what a sport. Big fan of Johnny Helly now. He did an amazing move in the zone I was watching that blew my mind. There were two lines and he decided to split the middle hucking off a rock in the middle 3 feet in the air. Amazing to watch.

Sweet day of spectating yesterday. Full rain gear and hiking boots were definately the right call. Buying the one ride ticket for the gondola was also a great idea. I've walked up and down the course during Crankworx, but taking the lift up and walking down the course was a treat. The sight lines from the spectator zones are great. The hiking trail got as destroyed as the race track. I saw lots of people in running shoes sliding all over the place getting really wet feet. Incorrect. The logical date format is YYYY/MM/DD, so that files with date are always sorted in the correct chronological order.

Hey Stud Beef Pile, That rock garden will be THE busiest and best spot to spectate. The crowd there will be mental. It's roughly half way down the track. If you have a lift ticket, walk down the access trails or bushwhack down the B Zone from the top of the Gondola. If you're walking down the access trails, the trail goes very close to, but not directly by this spot. If you're bushwhacking down the B Zone, you'll end up right there. Either way it's hard to miss. If you're walking up from the bottom, follow the access trails...

Also, I'm hearing that it might not be permitted to ride up service roads from the finish line to access the course like it has been allowed for Crankworx. I'm going to bet that the "security" for that will only be from the finish line. If you look at Trailforks or OSM and check out how to access to the bottom 1/3 of the course via service roads from the top of Kadenwood Drive or from the Fitz zone via Northwest Passage, you can almost certainly still get to the usual spots on a bike. Can confirm that this event is no longer helicopter limited from a rescue point of view. Since last year's Crankworx event, more access points have been added and ground evacuation plans made for the entire course.

So back to the XC World cup in Utah...yeah, wow. Watch it. Spoiler alert: It's awesome. But I'm a bit partial. It's cool to see the top riders on terrain I can actually relate to. Dude, collaboration is not unique to engineering. Inter and intra specialty collaboration is surprisingly normal in the world at large, especially when people are working on a common outcome. I think where you might get that perception is how you tend to be combative with so many people.
