Well the tariffs are coming. Good luck to DaVinci, Norco, Transition etc, brands that do a lot of cross border sales. I wonder since a lot of the frames are made in Taiwan and shipped from Taiwan they won't be tariffed. Unfortunately products like Vorsprungs new shock will now be 25% more expensive for Americans.

Your point about being a potential competitor to other frame manufacturers (when it comes to OEM wheel spec) isn't invalid, but I agree it's likely pretty far from their biggest reason for cutting off frames. personally, i'm of the opinion (and others seem to be as well) is that once you can mate / integrate a gearbox with an e-bike motor the floodgates would probably open up.

They're clearly trying lean into the automotive market, where CPO is essentially defined term wherein the OEM has inspected the car, certified it, and is continuing to honour the warranty (and possibly extending it).
