5/5/2025 4:07pm Best value proposition is either brands 11sp drive trains. They worked incredibly well, they are different, one clunked and one was smoother, but they are very reliable, less prone to indexing faults than either 12sp, and so much cheaper. If you want value 12sp the only option is Shimano mix/match. Unfortunately an equivalent Sram drivetrain is almost double the price...

5/5/2025 1:46pm This is something more people should know Always buy the XTR chain, never get anything else for a Shimano drivetrain. The XTR will last twice as long (if not more) and isn't twice the price so your actually saving money. Zero Friction Cycling has incredible reviews that show the more expensive chains are well worth it for mileage

5/2/2025 3:15pm Maybe Asa isn't a money hungry vampire and happy to get paid well and ride for a team he enjoys and is getting incredible results with? Could others pay more, probably, would Asa enjoy riding with them as much? Probably not?

4/23/2025 10:51pm That's exactly what's been happening recently, a good analogy is that the port is like an airport, your passport doesn't get stamped until you leave, in this case the stamp being the tariff isn't applied until goods exit the port facility. It's probably not the biggest deal for mountain bikes, but this strategy will increase prices regardless as it shortens...

4/23/2025 10:44pm I didn't think I'd ever say this but here goes, they should probably do headset cable routing.

4/22/2025 2:41pm What exactly did Leo learn though? He was a prick to his own customers who had problems, and a prick to half the other people, and couldn't glue a frame together without it disassembling mid ride. Ok so Rocky doesn't go on the list, but GT surely does? Yes it didn't "fail" and the parent company is solvent, but it's...

4/22/2025 2:34pm Ok everyone's requests are reasonable and potentially possible to make. But this isn't possible at all, ever.

4/22/2025 4:20am Do we get to add GT and Rocky Mountain to this?

4/21/2025 11:09pm Maybe they canned it due to the financial climate and just slightly re-jigged the existing TR11 then? The frame looks like it uses the same hydroformed tubeset they just have a new headtube, slightly adjusted seatstay with the CS adjuster in it, and a slightly lower overall leverage ratio. Maybe i'm missing something, but it looks very close to the...

4/21/2025 3:02pm So the alloy transition that we saw posted a while back with a vertical shock and dual crown must have been the new Spire then and not the TR11

4/19/2025 2:48pm The Madonna V3 you can already +-5mm RC with the different axle kits. So you can run a 455 RC on the size Large with a different axle (instead of the standard 450), you'd only need the. XL rear triangle to run a 460 RC. V3 Large with 455 RC gives you a 1.83 ratio which I would say is...

4/16/2025 3:39pm "Weighting feet is moving centre of gravity" Huh? Even dynamically stem length doesn't affect how your feet distribute weight through the tyres, yes you can take weight off your feet, but that doesn't change the split of F/R distribution from your feet, just the total loading at the F/R tyres. Everyone is discussing static weight bias on flat ground, for...

4/16/2025 3:18pm stem length doesn't affect weight bias, only the ability to weight your hands, which isn't the weight bias everyone is talking about, were discussing the distribution of weight from the feet through the BB to front and rear wheels.

4/10/2025 4:08pm Ahh true, because the stanchion to crown interface can be shorter on a USD to normal fork, similar to how axle to crown is shorter given the travel for dual crown forks

4/10/2025 2:33pm Does indeed seem to be a 20mm axle. Surprised it's on a sentinel, since that's meant to be a 160mm travel bike, but I guess just run it at 170 and see

4/7/2025 2:26pm It looks like a trp before it hits the lathe and has all the extra material taken off to give it some style. It's just machine billet at this point.

4/6/2025 7:50pm Wow, a rare tariff supporter on the vital forums. I think it is actually an OK view to have, if you don't want global trade and the benefits that come with it, that's fine. Just be prepared to accept lower quality, more expensive goods, and worse work for the average person because now you need to man the manufacturing and...
