SaddleRags Liked a comment about product review The Wild and Wonderful New FOX Podium Inverted Fork

Good writeup. Ok, I’ve been thinking about this a bit today. Let’s say you’re building a burly free ride bike. You can have this podium or a 190mm dual crown. They weigh about the same and have roughly the same axle to crown. Which do you pick?

Fair question. Money is definitely one reason why we haven't bought an Intend to test ( or 2772 reasons). In a perfect world, I would love for Vital to buy all of our test products at MSRP, like Consumer Reports used to do (Consumer Reports is now a dead husk of their former self). But buying all our test products would require either a) more revenue from advertisers, or b) moving to a subscription model and charging viewers, which other bike sites have done (Velo, Radavist, etc), or c) more $$$ from advertisers AND charging viewers for a subscription, which...

It's in between a Surron and an E-MTB. I hate it now and I will always hate it.

Low mount fenders are now readily available for our NINE One front fork. As for reviews, it just comes down to availability. Since launching the fork, we have been overwhelmed with trying to satisfy demand and haven't had a single fork to spare for the media. We have been focused on scaling our production for the past year and have made significant progress. We look forward to getting the forks in the media's hands. That being said, there are a number of rider reviews online, including on the NINE ONE product page from customers who paid for the fork.

The uppers-mounted Intend fender looks dorky as heck and has nowhere near the coverage of a good RDS fender for sure. The USD stanchions and seals are self-cleaning though, so you're really only protecting your face and torso from splashing. The fender helps with that a bit. I am more annoyed about the leg guards situation so I made my own. Poor looking but good enough.

Two things that have kept me from jumping on an Intend or Push. - Sounds silly to some, but a big deal for others. Fenders. Buggers me why, with all the innovative capabilities available, why Intend hasn't bothered addressing this. - Reviews. Push's transparency and attitude has been fantastic leading up to the release of the Nine One, but what's...

After having gone back and forth a few times now between the Intend and PUSH forks, I feel the ability to tune the flex (torsional and fore/aft) is a big benefit of the inverted design. Historically this has been a weak point, with the single crown Shiver being slightly terrifying at times with the ability of the front wheel to wander aimlessly in rock gardens. This is no longer the case (at least with the Intend and PUSH forks), with the amount of flex being beneficial. Similar to what Reece is talking about in regards to the Dorado here: It...

Here’s my $0.02: Robot raises a solid point different doesn’t always mean better. There’s been a lot of hype around why USD is supposed to be superior, but honestly, I haven’t seen anything measurable (quantitative) that makes me a believer, especially in single crown setups. Instead of starting with why USD might be better, I think it’s more useful to lay out some core problems with current suspension forks and then explore if USD might help solve them. Compliance: Across every sport I touch...skiing, moto, MTB there was a phase where “stiffer = better.” Everyone wanted to be the guy...

There seems to be very little real world experience on the Push out there, pretty much everything I come across is marketing, so an honest and unbiased opinion on it’s performance would be great, especially compared to a Zeb and 36
