Back to crab related rumours. Kavenz has started prototyping their VHP V8 which will be carbon tube and cnc’d lugs. They will be posting a series following along with all the details, similar to what they did when they created the first version of their frame.

downtube storage sounds nice, but hope that doesn‘t make the downtube as thick looking as a light e-bike (looking at you santa cruz).

re: bearings In my 30 years of riding mountain bikes, I've owned 40+ full suspension bikes, and not once did I ever consider bearing replacement ease/difficulty when considering a frame. I know we're a bunch of nerds on here, but do some of you actually consider that when looking at a bike?

Going off @ therock911's cryptic comment to check out the headtube cable insertion for clues, it doesn't look like a Yeti SB120 or new Scott Gambler, but it does look pretty close to a new Norco Sight. I chose the newest bikes I could think of from each brand as a gauge of how they're doing cable routing right now:

Sorry, I really don’t have any inside info, just a bike nerd that got to bother Owen for 10 minutes. I wouldn’t count on V3s anytime soon. With the way the bike industry is going, they probably need focus their capital allocation on getting enough Druid-Es to dealers and customers. In PDX Cyclepath only got about ~8 of them and sold through quickly minus the one small. In my mind I would wait for the carbon molds to wear out before updating bikes, 3-4 years depending on yield from what I understand. Both the V2s IMO are good bikes.

I hope Forbidden doesn't make the pedal powered bikes also crabs as it sounds like some testing was done of the e bikes without motors. My Druid V2 is way sexier than the crab bikes so I hope V3 doesn't go that direction...

When were tech rumours banned from the tech rumours thread? Edit: Less sarcastic response: The e-bike thread is for non-tech-rumour related e-bike discussions. The e-bike discussion above however looks very much like tech rumours to me.

Tippie isn’t competitive, and you’re not really hiring him to ride. He's basically a marketing ambassador. You aren’t paying him to even ride, really. He has a skill set that’s beyond riding and something that most people, regardless of their riding ability, don’t have. He’s not really a “modern” influencer, because social media isn’t his medium, but a brand would basically “sponsor” him in the same way as an influencer, not as a racer/freerider. You’re paying for the personality and story, not the talent.
