I have broken my finger, elbow and collarbone at various stages of the last 15 years, most recent big crash was a worrying concussion. I never for a split second considered stopping biking. 2 weeks ago I finally got around to having time to set up the new crankbrothers synthesis wheelset from vital fantasy (still so stoked thank you vital and crankbrothers). Pulled the tires and tannus tubeless off my oem set (which I can mount by hand without Tyre levers). Try to install them on the new set. 29r front goes on easy by hand. 27.5 rear is unbelievably tight to get the last little bit and needs levers to get on. Won’t hold air longer than 20min. IMO the hate towards Warner Bros/ Discovery/ the UCI is completely warranted. They took a reasonable product from RedBull that was FREE, added a paywall, started dismantling and taking apart the sport we love and seem content to just throw out crappy coverage. They are not following through with promises to grow the sport and cutting the numbers of riders is only going to reduce the prospects for future talent - would Ronan be winning this w/e if racing as a privateer back then (2021) was as difficult as it is now...? I haven't watched since the first free semi...

thanks @BGoldstone ! clarification communicated based on that rule book page is that timed training is not "nuked" (sorry, my mistake), but there's the option to not have timed training or mandatory training two days ahead of the final. with that amendment, a world cup DH could technically be turned into a two-day event (training only mandatory the day before the final according to book...the "two days before mandatory" rule now crossed out). sounds like there is no timed training at lenzerheide which was a surprise to racers/teams because it was on the preliminary schedule. not sure what future races...

Wait so you have to pay to get the race, pay to build the course , pay for all the infrastructure needed and also have to pay the prizes? And you also see people ask why so many places don't want to host races.

In the last B Practice Podcast, we discussed Dakotah Norton’s 3rd place podium at the Val di Sole World Cup, and in particular, his take-home prize money. Hilariously enough, Dak forgot to claim his winnings until we brought it up during the podcast. @shredder_schroeder I've also been a bit dubious about this whole thing over the last few days. For me, it's hard to let go of DH racing once the season ends, and I get sucked into this event with way too much expectation. I've seen every edition of hardline (replays, then broadcast since 2018), but this year something in the back of the brain just doesn't agree with all the hype. So I looked up the race reports and put the data into a spreadsheet... nerdy yes, but no risk of a broken collarbone. My conclusion is that it's not progressing...

Regarding Danny am I the only one who thinks his value as a “personality” has gone through the roof since joining cube? He seems way more comfortable and clearly doesn’t give a shit what anyone has to say about him anymore. Personally I think he’s been hilarious on Brayton’s YT channel and Wyntv.
