i found mtb as a way to stay sane during my summers away from snowboarding and now its just kinda taken over. Cut my teeth in the Tetons, Spent a couple seasons in the NW, but there's no place like home!
Oh man so many flashbacks. My first FS was a Sugar 2, and I raced that thing for a full season of collegiate downhill (including 3 races at Plattekille). I even skipped class one day to go meet Gary Fisher at a bike shop in Boston and he signed the frame. Then sadly three weeks later the bike was stolen...sigh.
Awesome! a few years ago i updated a sugar team issue for a friend's kid to ride, the thing was so ahead of it's time! After drilling out the housing stops, adding a dropper, hydro front brake and good tires, 1x1O, short stem and wide bars, I would say it rode just as well as any pr "modern geometry" bike. It's so cool to see a platform like Vital showing love to a "recycled" ride!
Very cool! I love seeing old classics revived. I did up a 2005 Cannondale Prophet like that. A 27.5 conversion and all new parts make for s great ride. Nice work.
