Unless you are very tall a 430 to 440 dj is going to be really big and sluggish feeling. My buddy who's 6'5" rides the large commencal and it fits him great but he dislikes jumps with tighter transitions because that big bike doesn't fit in them well. IMO 400 to 415 reach is good for people under 6'. Go watch some pro bmx racers and you can see you don't need a big long mtb to go fast and pump.

Not really, a slope bike is not needed on pump tracks and decently built jumps. It adds unnecessary weight and cost. The only benefit of a ss bike is absorbing the big landings on ss courses. Even there a lot of the pros ride djs.

The whole cycling world didn't move to presta, BMX and many commuter bikes are schrader. So just roadies really, and mountain bikers were dumb enough to follow them. I would gladly buy a new inflator and pump head if the industry changed over.

I still don’t see how this is in anyway as good as a schrader valve. Pop the valve out of a schrader and you have a huge tide to put sealant down. And they’re cheap as chips. We just need someone to make them in fancy colours. I believe a commenter on PB said just call them Presta Boost. Lol

Good looking solution, but still inferior to schrader. Why is the bike industry trying so hard to reinvent the wheel?

Rad looking bike. Is it really a 2.8 rear tire or is that a typo? Rare to see a wider tire in the back than front but with the mullet I guess contact patch might be similar. Interesting choice though.

Anything but that park green stank pit head down to the local boat store and get you some of that good good super waterproof marine grease. Works every time... nice thick red auto grease works wonders as well. *unless suspension, use sram butter // slick honey

Run the cassette until it stops working. Shops that push people to buy a new cassette with every chain are crooks.

Hey all, I posted this question over in the PB mechanics thread but thought I'd throw it on here too. So I was selling a used bike and I measured the chain the way I learned to do it decades ago with a ruler. I got 3/32 of stretch in a foot. The guideline I was taught years ago back...

Although I empathize with your sentiment and count myself lucky to have access to miles and miles of raw backcountry trails with amazing descents, let me provide a little perspective. Come on down to San Diego. SDMBA just got banned from working on some popular trails. They were doing unsanctioned were removing obstacles, aka rocks, so they could post on IG to ask for donations. Let me repeat, their work has been so poor that they were asked by the land management organization to stop doing work without supervision. None of the SDMBA executives ride, their "trail builder" doesn't ride...
