USA cycling screwed Sue Haywood out of the Olympics a decade or so ago. She jumped through all of their hoops and should have gone but they picked someone else (Mary Mcconnally?). Sue sued USAC and won (undisclosed settlement). Remember those awesome "NORBA hates you " t-shirts?! USA cycling hates everyone, especially downhillers but mtb in general, just like the UCI. Old out of touch men flexing their egos and hurting hard working athletes.

So the big takeaway here is that USAC is still entirely incompetent as an organization and do a terrible job all around (especially when it comes to DH)

In the past, the team manager has always looked to make sure their rider(s) secured a spot or they knew the USAC petitioning rules for Worlds.
