5/15/2025 9:53am Question... with all of this weight being added to DH bikes... is there a market for an ISCG mounted chain guide product that has modular weights/ballast to add? Hrm... all of this has me thinking about using the in frame storage on my nomad to have a sock full of lead weight, wrapped in neoprene to slip in there for bike park days. Bonus points for being able to carry what equates to a blackjack with me to fend off bike theives.

5/12/2025 3:08pm Is enduro dead? Sure felt like it the last few years. Maybe I just paid better attention to this race but this feels like a return to pre-covid EWS. Decent coverage, good racing on proper stages. Wonder if bolth Rude and Hattie are like "damn, why we leave now?"

5/12/2025 2:59pm Hey I'm back (with Rocky). I might post a bit less here as I navigate current state of the bike industry; I've got a mountain of work to get through after being away from it all for 5 months. Thanks for the well wishes.

5/7/2025 3:19pm Yes in theory - although if your pressures are closer than the normal recommended ratio theres a small chance if you top it back up seal friction would prevent it fully extending and you end up with a softer main chamber (volume is larger). I think this is generally no different to checking pressure in a single chamber fork - you don't really need to check anything unless it feels softer. If you do think its soft then deflate the top, pump up the bottom them pump up the top. As long as you note the pressure going in thats...

5/2/2025 8:09am I dunno anything about these brakes, but the automotive reference I think of when I hear DB8 isn't Toyota, it's Aston Martin.

5/2/2025 8:00am Here are my thoughts after 7 months on SRAM’s DB8 brake: https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/hydraulic-disc-brakes/sram/db8-5… Okay brake nerds, tell me why I’m wrong.

5/1/2025 10:28am That would be a crazy tooling/fixturing setup to machine that from a billet if that's the case. My bet is that its cast then machined to provide the necessary tolerances and surface finish. Either way I would really like to see a video of the machining in action!

There's a lot of really good riders who work in the industry, but Transition could probably field the best team in some sort of 10 person multi-discipline corporate mountain bike challenge with dirt jump, freeride, enduro, DH, and overall vibe competitions.

4/30/2025 2:44pm @TEAMROBOT Yes, that’s exactly what Chronocult does. It is a simple web-based timing tool. You can have a friend at the start and another at the finish - each on their phone - timing the same racer. The system syncs in real time: when one starts a racer, the other can stop them, and it all updates live to the same leaderboard. - No app required - Works with QR code or link to invite another timer - Add/remove racers on the fly - Works with or without cell service (it should reconcile the data when the phones are back...

4/25/2025 1:01pm The trainer is probably made in Taiwan, so it's currently at a 10% tariff. The HR monitor is almost certainly from China, so it's currently being tariffed at 145%. In both cases, there may be other earlier, category-specific tariffs already in place. But, if you're just looking at what's new, it's the 10% and 145%. As explained earlier, tariffs apply...

4/21/2025 10:27am Agree. I think running a chainguide with a lower roller helps a ton, it eliminates a lot of metallic clinking noise of the chain tapping on the chainring as it bounces around.

4/21/2025 8:40am I hope that tarrifs get presented to us consumers in the "resort fee" or "service charge" itemization fashion for as many products as possible. With that reality staring people glaringly in the face, it will show the remaining sheep that stay aggressively igornant, exactly what the choices of the executive branch are costing them. That will of course be difficult, similarly to the example being discussed above where a dtc brand may pass the tarrif through on a 1/1 basis, but a wholesale/distributorship model has a quadratic price increase as it passes through the line. Maybe if people see the...
