3/27/2024 9:43pm Argument against ultralight saddles with no-padding: the entire reason you're asking this question is to minimize the impact of your saddle on body position when you're descending. Well, you can be darn sure that a thin, unpadded, saddle-shaped carbon fiber blade at roughly knee level will impact your body position when descending. You're going to be consciously and unconsciously working around it all the time to make sure you don't bump into it. Heaven forbid you bump your business end into it like Gee at Mont Sainte Anne. I think you're gonna miss that padding when it's gone.

3/27/2024 9:39pm I think the advantage would be that you would then add more dropper post travel either by installing a new post or simply adjusting the shims on certain models like the Oneup or PNW dropper ranges

3/27/2024 9:39pm A lower seat doesn't mean more drop. If you have the seat up to where it should be for pedaling, and you drop it, the top of the seat is only going to move the amount of the seatpost travel. The only way a lower seat will matter is if you are going to slam the post to the collar and not have it come up to the correct height for proper leg extension.

3/21/2024 8:59pm For the same design and same loading, stress is the same for the two materials assuming no deflection. Modulus of elasticity is the same for all intents and purposes so when you consider deflection as well it’s still pretty much the same. S-N curve is the quick and easy way to visualize fatigue. For the same stress, 7075 can handle significantly more cycles. This graph is something I found really quick so no idea how accurate it is, but conveys the point. Traced lines for stress that would cause failure in 10^4 cycles in 6061. Would require about 10^5.6 cycles...

3/17/2024 8:08am I don't know if this will apply to your situation, but I found the HSC knob on my new '23 Super Deluxe to add a lot of harshness on high speed chatter and rocks without adding a lot of upside. I live in a desert with rocks and a lot of high speed chatter, not unlike your ride at Moab. The low speed knob and HBO were friendly but my HSC is either wide open or 1 click from open. YMMV Sesame guy is being more than unhelpful, but he's not completely wrong. It is hard to recommend anything without...

3/13/2024 8:04pm I’ll offer my experience. Once they switched to their own product, I noticed tight radius convex areas no longer adhered as well and started peeling prematurely. RideWrap’s prior product and the product I received circa 2020 from Invisiframe (which I believe they still use) were/are much better.

2/20/2024 7:39pm Interesting, of all the components Minaar could pick, his team ends up on TRP. MucOff and Gwin Racing all running TRP. And before the partnership with Gwin, Tektro was no where but low end OEM parts. I do think Gwin brings a significant value to companies that work for him. I have no way of quantifying that. I have purchased and am interested in parts he runs.
