12/2/2025 6:23pm I'm the wrong person to answer this as I've never been to Geelong so I'd just be parroting information from Trailforks, however gravel is pretty popular in Victoria and Geelong is basically at one end of the Great Ocean Road, which is a very popular road cycling route, if that kind of thing tickles your fancy. Edit: How could I forget the High Country?! What little of that I've ridden (Bright and Falls Creek) was very good gravity riding. Some of Falls Creek's trails run through old growth mountain ash forests which are very scenic.

12/2/2025 6:22pm brace yourself... at the end of the year, we're going to lock this thread. while it's been amazing (thank you all!) and fun that we hit 1000 pages and over 7.5m views, this thread is a logistical and technical resource hog. it's also not easy to access older information. while there are a lot of upsides to the ease and convenience of posting to this thread, the downsides are outweighing the ups with it being so massive. please start a NEW thread to the hub for anything that has potential for legitimate discussion. good posts will be homepaged and the...

metadave Started a new thread Aussie trip question
12/2/2025 5:32pm I'm heading down to Victoria in February and wondering if its worth bringing my bike, and which one. I'll be there for 3 weeks, and based out of Geelong mostly I think, but I'll have a truck and am fine to travel within 5-6 hours if its worth it. Not sure if its a trail bike trip, or a gravel...

11/28/2025 5:34pm Until they're all confirmed and announced, its still silly season. Some riders aren't officially on a different bike until its public and lets be honest, for the DH crowd who actually cares, the drama of the off season is free advertising for all these brands and riders. Vali and any new brand she's with may want to hold off to...

11/28/2025 1:22pm All the above probably did pretty ok, likely as their wares aren't something more common or necessary. There was little need to rush to meet demand. Velocity would be interesting since they definitely had a rocking business during the #fixieboom. How they fared after the #fixiebust going into C19 years would make for an interesting read. On a side note, I'd love for Velocity to update their rim profiles to better accept modern tubeless setups. Price wise they aren't all that out of line with the likes from the majors who source from X nation(s), making them attractive from cost...

11/27/2025 8:41pm Likely just an easy number to move towards. It's not too big (36) but enough of a jump in size to make people think its better. Pure marketing. 29" kind of made sense, it was already the same rim and tire diameter as road bikes, so making that jump for manufactures of wheels and tires, well all they really needed...

11/24/2025 6:35pm I assumed that was just a joke (I liked it anyway). In the same spirit, Jack Moir called out a rider on a Frameworks in his latest Thredbo video. Therefore Jack Moir to Frameworks. And pretty cool that someone's gone to the trouble to get one here, too.

11/24/2025 1:28pm I'm pretty sure every Wilson after 2011ish were mid high pivot were they not? The main pivot was half way up the frame and the chain stay pulled a rotating link to actuate the shock
