11/18/2025 11:54am You'd get a pretty good feel for sunpeaks in three days. One could ride bad habit and stella blue for three days straight, in fact my wife usually does. Another place we really enjoy is Valemount. No lift service there though, just shuttles on the weekends, or ebike up during the week. Not as much stuff for the family to do though.

11/18/2025 11:52am Hey everyone, thanks a ton for all the replies – this is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for 🙏🤘 @BGoldstone thanks for kicking things off and already throwing Silver Star into the mix! That wasn’t even on my radar and now it’s on the list for sure. @metadave I got really stoked reading your comment, both about the riding and the stuff to do off the bike. I’ve already added Meadow in the Sky Parkway in Revelstoke to the “family views” list. I’m also following you now so I can steal some ideas for spots outside the...

11/17/2025 4:16pm I wonder if that's going to sink them in the end this time around. I really hope anyone signing up fresh with YT is careful.

11/17/2025 4:14pm I think keyboard warriors wanted to see YT burn after this to burn Markus. Twice have they burned riders at the top of the game. They burned customers. Why would we want to be oh yeah they are back? All the good karma that they had built up over the years?

11/17/2025 3:36pm There have been a few almost losses the last two years who at least tried or were open about what was happening, and come back swinging like Rocky, Kona, Nukeproof. They have all come back in someway and people celebrated them coming back because of the way they handled it. Revel as well, although they were a bit tougher with...

11/17/2025 1:38pm Interesting. I figured that was a DVO thing but maybe they didn't patten it? The OG Emerald had a great looking stanchion guard/arch

11/17/2025 12:15pm Olá! Whistler is amazing - there's nothing else quite like it. Some other places worth visiting: Squamish is a great town and has some of the world's best riding, with lots of professional mountain bikers living and riding there. If you want to maximize your experience, contact Dialed In Cycling . They are a local mountain bike guiding and coaching company, and Dan, the owner, is just an excellent guy. Sun Peaks is one of my favourite places to ride. It has a really nice village with multiple restaurants and things to do in the summer, but it's not on...

11/17/2025 10:20am Not surprising for them to pick up some easy riders who don't require much structure other than a small pay checks and some frames or bikes. You could have 20 riders out there posting about your stuff to a huge audience for a quarter the cost of what it takes to run the mob. If the Mob does come back...

11/17/2025 9:36am Sun peaks is a small resort village but has every thing you’ll need. Grocery store, restaurants etc. The riding as a bit of everything with a much more laid back vibe then Whistler. Never ridden Revy but the town is closer to Whistler in size. You might also want to look at Silver Star, not too far out of the way between Sun Peaks and Revelstoke.

11/17/2025 9:36am Revy is a much more natural spot with small town vibes, although that's starting to change as the ski hill grows in popularity. The bike park is still new and they're growing their trail network steadily but it's not huge yet. It's also priced accordingly. 5620, as the name states, is about.a 13km long trail blue flow that drops 5620ft...

11/12/2025 3:55pm I think we're talking about different things. Absolutely, older bikes will keep going and any shop worth going to will be able to keep either of those bikes going for a long time. I regularly see well cared for 40+ year old bikes still going strong. I'm more leaning into critical failure of legacy parts. If your AC1 (Sick by...

11/12/2025 12:01pm If we can't get parts for them because the company's have moved on from that system, yes. It's brutal, but in my experience the bike industry has always had short product cycles because things change so quickly and demand drops severely after 5 years because those products, such as fork spares, shock spares, even frames because the people who service...

11/12/2025 8:19am The E-bikes over 8 years thing is interesting. From my understanding, battery tech didn't have as many fail safes from thermal run-away as they do now in the first gen of E-bikes. The first gen Turbo series from Specialized did a heap for battery safety. We as a shop, don't work on bikes systems we don't sell, mainly because we...

11/7/2025 8:56pm I'm not sure how many of you have met Tippie, but he is just an absolute force. When he's around, he commands the entire space. The first time I met him was at Aggy's Reunion in... like 2015 or 16 maybe? It was one of the first fest series events and the rider stable there was huge. But if Tippie...
