Krispy Added a reply to Yoann Barelli's Brake Lever Position

2/26/2016 8:11pm
My wrists can't even bend like that any more! On a moto I wrap my left finger all the way around the lever since on is a clutch after all. The other side has a throttle, its easier to reach the lever when it's high. The lever s also need to fit behind hand guards. Bars are also much higher...

Krispy Added a comment about video Linkage Analysis - Santa Cruz V10c vs. Pivot Phoenix Carbon

These are my two favorite DH bikes and I sell both! It should be said that under braking the V 10 looks similar to the Phoenix but that is at sag. deeper in the travel the suspension becomes more active. This allows the bike to squat some and remain stable, but then still track well when deeper in the travel. Aside from the V 10, the Devinci Wilson does this in a similar way with the inverted Split Pivot design. I usually like progressive bikes, the new generation shocks that employ an Ohlins style damper aren't progressive so the bike...

Looks like the pad opening is larger, the pads are a little tricky to get to fit in just right sometimes. That could help with cooling and mud as well. Separate bolt for the hose too, might add stiffness with a 3rd bolt.

I love Vital bike tests, but only 1 paragraph about the actual ride leaves a lot to be desired.

bturman Liked a product review Tested: DVO Suspension Diamond Fork

Review by Brandon Turman // Photos by Brandon Turman and Dave Trumpore We caught a glimpse of DVO Suspension’s Diamond fork nearly two years ago in prototype form. Since that time the company has been tweaking and tuning their first single crown fork, and they’ve been very open about the entire development process. For those biding their time, the wait is over and the fork is now available. Like the Emerald DH fork that came before it, the Diamond makes use of DVO’s Off The Top (OTT) external negative spring adjustment and has an easily removable and tunable compression loader...

Krispy Added a comment about feature First Look: 2015 Yeti SB5c with Switch Infinity Technology

I got in a lunch ride at Yeti 2 days ago and had similar impression of the bike. Extremely smooth, no harsh bottom, firm climbing, and it felt like closer to 6" of travel. It looks a little complicated at first but it is more simple and much easier to maintain than the previous version. It has a downhillers geo as well. It's priced the same as the other guys out there and at the weight it hits its no heavier than other multi link designs. There aught to be sub $5000 build options soon as well.

Review by A.J. Barlas // Photography Jon Anthony & A.J. Barlas Technology in mountain biking has been progressing at an alarming rate the last 5 or so years. 10 years ago carbon on a mountain bike was often thought of as a scary, testing-fate kind of scenario to enter into, but now it's all over the place and if you aren't riding a plastic frame many won't even look twice at your rig. When carbon hoops first came to market, the one name that really caught many riders' attention was ENVE Composites. Under the Santa Cruz Syndicate's riders, on their...
