We have entered the part of silly season where people float (and debate!) wild speculation that a 42 year old Dan Atherton returns to downhill (last result was 57th at Crankworx in 2018) on a new rubber band bike to chase a $100k podium. Perhaps we need an award for most ridiculous rumor every year. 🤣🤣🤣

Didn't Ohlins recently announce they weren't going to develop any new MTB products? Hmm, I guess this isn't super clear though... Brother do you know what a rumour is? If I just tell everyone what brand is developing it or which riders will be running it this season it's not a rumour it's just a statement of fact. Keeping it vague enough for people to guess and put forward some theories as to who it could be is what makes it fun.

I'm okay with you having an opinion on the Bike Mechanic profession not paying enough. However, factually speaking we are living in golden economic times. I'd suggest a bike mechanic that needs more money, find employment that pays more, as that's a job of passion and discounted bike parts, not economic advancement. It's not just the stock market that has done insanely well (and it's due for a major correction and could easily drop 20+% in 2025). It's exceedingly low unemployment, its high wage growth, even inflation is very good compared to the rest of the 1st world. And the...

I love how Danny pokes fun at himself when talking about being a bit of a Diva when they were on Giant together lol. He always seems to have these funny little quips and a good personality for a guy who is a multi-time world champ. Who wouldn't want to sign Danny? Can't wait to see how him and Greg get along now that greg is retired, I feel like it will either go really good or horribly wrong...

That is called being a professional. They're used to it. Sometimes your forced to use new gear that its objectively worse than what you were using before, but its how you get paid.

I think the Athertons are pretty satisfied with how the Robotbike/Atherton turned out. Gold and Silver at the Worlds, plus a few WC wins is not exactly shite….
