Not the new bike we’re waiting for but still pretty good news in times where the little guys are closing up shop.

My luke warm take, one metric Allan key or Torx bit size for all handlebar controls, and not something too small. Three, sometimes four different sizes just to replace a handlebar is annoying AF. Also, all rear shocks have a single mounting hardware size (likely not feasible) and Fox type (get rid of DU bushings forever).

@mcfadden999 and anyone else responding to him, guess what? there's an entire forum where you can start a new topic dedicated to one specific thing and you can develop that topic into the minutia it deserves. no more cascade review crap in this thread. hooray for babysitting grown adults in 2024!

We actually blocked you. Because of all the other crap not the thinking something is too progressive. You’re actually the only person we’ve ever blocked. I guess you get some sort of an award or something. Not sure it’s one I’d want…

This is not a tech rumor so I’m not going to talk about this again. What I will say is we haven’t seen a single case of frame damage due to regular use. Frames are pretty overbuilt. Your wheels are more likely to blow up first. Ask me how I know. Off the top of my head, I can only remember two instances where serious frame damage occurred. One was improper installation and one was incompatible shock. We actually paid for the crash replacement frame for the incompatible shock case because there was a typo on our website that was...

Mostly onboard except for big ass riding glasses! The bigger the better, in fact make them so big they work with my full face please! (Especially as I need corrective lenses) What's in for 2024 and forever: 1) Vital raw, copied by every other outlet, but the original is still head a shoulders above the rest. 2)Vital b team podcast so long as you get Dak to continue

What's also In: -High-end metal bikes. RAAW, Knolly, Banshee, Privateer, Specialized, Devinci, Commencal - so hot right now! -Frame adjustability. And honestly good on those brands that let me choose wheelsize, HTA, Reach and BB height for myself. -The Vital B-Practice Podcast. The crew is doing a stellar job! -Frame flex. Compliance is going to be the hot, new marketing buzzword in 2024. What's also Out: -Carbon as a frame material, especially for long-travel bikes. Riders are loving well-specced metal bikes right now. -Pinkbike. It's truly sad how things have gone downhill since the Outside takeover. No wonder Mike Levy...

Edit your post, it got broken a bit, at first glance it looks like you're posting pictures of the current/old demo saying it's the proto one Smile

Has NOTHING to do with what the consumer WANTS. Every company could make a Dh tire /rim combo that doesn't flat. But nobody wants to risk losing a race running something heavy enough to cross the line intact and fully inflated EVERY SINGLE TIME. And no one is gonna buy that tire unless it's got a motocross engine attached to it. Maxxis, Michelin, Continental, Vee, Pirelli, Tioga, Kenda...you name it. They could ALL make that tire. But you can't get GM to run it in a winner takes all race determined by .01 second. And you're not gonna sell it...

I don't use it myself, but I dislike the increased incidence of straight lines appearing on what used to be fun, twisty trails since people started using it. However I like all the roadies losing their shit when a mate forgets to turn his off before loading his bike into the van and driving home.

I don't like strava because i don't care about the data it gives. I know people who love strava and use it. I wish some people would keep private trails off strava or strava would block private land or non sanctioned trails. That's one downside. KOM's are also annoying for downhill mtb trails with high traffic. That's more based on dumb users vs the app.

I liked the logging, time ridden, routes etc, but ended up uninstalling it. The way strava turns every ride into a race (either against others or yourself) was a big downer for me. I realised that I would enjoy a ride, sit down full of stoke, then open up strava... As soon as I saw I'd gone slower than usual the stoke would evaporate, and I'd start questioning where I'd gone 'wrong'. Deleted the app, and returned to my preferred metric of Smiles Per Hour.
