5/19/2025 12:10am And yet at the rear where most of the rider weight is and where most of the heavy hits are taken we comfortably run 12mm hollow axles at lengths that are 30% higher. Weird.

4/29/2025 12:58pm Their pre wave alloy? i've owned a set of those 'big bearing' pedals for years and i've probably put my foot on it once. Regardless the answer to flat pedals is always the same.... go and buy clip pedals.

4/14/2025 12:17pm haha you are right and I am sorry, I didn't mean to derail the thread so much. All I really wanted to do was defend Enduro as I agree with a lot that has been said above, it's mainly a perception issue, so I am trying to shift perception and bring some positivity into the discipline. That was the reason for the Jack/Sram comment and trying to make it less about Sram pulling Enduro funding, and also the Chris Ball comment, which did not go over well, but that one I'll accept and I will keep trying with him. I'll...

4/1/2025 11:40am Technically I don't get paid by SRAM either. They support the Canyon factory team that I am a part of, who pays me. That isn't to say they don't support me, but I don't have a contract with them. Factory teams are generally bolstered by sponsorship deals to increase the budget they have. YT went the route of 'uncaged' which meant they were fitting the whole bill and allowing their riders to run whatever they wanted, not taking any sponsorship money so the riders weren't forced into anything. Or so I understand it. So Jack would still get paid as...

3/28/2025 5:00am I have a XT casette that that got loose on a weekendtrip with out a a cassette tool. The rattle from the loose cogs and crap shifting is worse than anything i have experienced with SRAM products.

3/25/2025 12:54am Use a little heat when removing, it makes the job MUCH easier. A hairdryer will in most cases be hot enough. About wrapping a frame, i do it, but i boy rolls of clear protective film for cars. Same protection, but it cost 20% of RideWrap. And you have a lot of film to spare if/when it get scratched.

3/18/2025 12:12pm We should talk about the difference between static friction and kinetic friction. Basically, all friction is calculated using the equation of F (or N) times Mu, f being force, either from weight (the normal force, how much the surface you are on is pushing back against you perpendicular to its surface) or how much force you are putting into the surface and Mu being a coefficient that is dependent on the two material that are rubbing against each other. There are two Mus for every combination, one for static friction the force preventing slipping, and kinetic friction, the force once...

3/6/2025 3:42am Got these in the mail the other day from the UK. Heard some rumblings about the looks on here, they do look decidedly old school but I’m excited to see another player in the game. Will report back once I finally get them mounted.

2/25/2025 12:16pm TLDR: More volts = more betterer for design, and battery requirements, but not a huge impact to the end user if the design is done right. Complicated question and answer. There isn't a massive reason to favor a 48v system over a 36v system. The biggest advantage to a higher voltage system is within the formula/equation for current/watts/amps. Said another way... Amps = Watts / Volts. Here is an example... Assuming 750w power request/output by the motor. 750 watts / 48 volts = 15.6 amps 750 watts / 36 volts = 20.8 amps Batteries are generally more efficient the less...

2/5/2025 1:02am From what I can gather, almost all D2C and online fulfillment will eventually be consolidated into that massive warehouse in SLC they picked up roughly a year or so ago. Along with many other things like all warranties, wheel/suspension services, and their internal schooling. As for all the well wishes…thank you. I’ve been turning wrenches for almost 20 years, and this is the first time I’ve had the rug pulled out from under me. I’ve already poked my head around locally and pinged some friends and things don’t look horribly bleak, so I got that going for me…which is nice.

1/31/2025 2:12am I feel a lot of people that would complain about the gearbox efficiency making a perceivable difference to their enduro or all mountain ride would be the same people with overbuilt wheels, fox 38, cushycores, and downhill casing tires for multiple blues a maybe a black diamond trail for their saturday ride. Then finish it off with pounding back 4 IPAs and some cake later that day.
