Yesterday on a pre-ride I had one hell of a ride..trying to stay in front of a 64(?) year old dude on an ebike...we had a blast.

Here's why I will eventually buy an e-bike: I am 50. I work a real job and don't have much time to train. I am only getting slower with each passing year, but I am pretty skilled on a bicycle... mostly carryover from my motorcycle talent, but I can ride down most trails and tech. Got another emtb about a month ago. Not ugly. Bike rips.

No way this is true for two big reasons. 1) 10mm is not very much 2) It changes the head angle by about 1/2 degree. Many bikes have a 63 and change HTA. The Strive comes stock at 65 (?? I think) Overall, yes, you may notice pushing on the fork in the showroom floor it isn't as "easy to compress" but unless your HTA is under 62 (or likely more) it won't matter on trail. The "force vector" is back and up anyway. My guess is this had to do with improper air spring assembly, or just placebo. Regardless...

Hating on e-bikes is one of the most irrational thing ever. I could understand it when they first came out and caused some trail acces issues in NA, but just hating on them is silly. No one is forcing you to ride one, people riding them don't affect how much fun can be had on a normal bike. E-bike racing probably needs to find the right format, but I'm fine with it as is. Do you'all think it's somehow cheating? On who, other people riding electric bicycles? Is it not hard enough? So it's DH compared to XC or Enduro...

people hating on ebike racing, clearly missing the point its far harder on the body going down on these, the struggle of moving these heavy things around really take its toll. Saying ebike racing is bs is like saying you hate motor racing because flintstone racing is better. People who hate on ebikes A: cant afford it, B: jealous, C: already fit and just being arrogant, D: ride lift access and the biggest one E: Refuse to admit ebikers have far more fun when they do 3 x the laps your "analog" bike does, ebikers will also tend to ride...

I don’t understand all this hate for ebikes. I don’t own one for the moment but I rented one this summer and I can say that I had a lot of fun. Yes, the engine helps with the climb but you still have to pedal. And the power is the same for all engines…For industry e-bikes segment is gold, I want to ride as long as possible and ebikes are helping us. Does it matter? It's supposed to be fun. Riding a bike uphill isn't much fun. Riding a bike downhill feeling fresh is super fun. Unless you are a paid pro and cheating the rules is involved I don't see an issue. Yes I ride an ebike.

I suppose certain people will never come to terms with EMTB's. Apparently the more difficult it is the better to keep outsiders away from "their" sport. They say it takes away some of the work...and it absolutely does. These are the same people that hit the down hills and then jump on a chairlift or load it up on the truck back to the top. Yeah, that's real hardcore right there.

That's what I meant. It boggles the mind...lol. I hate emtbs because they take away the work and you have to earn your burn in my MTB world. As the get shuttled and lifted to the next drop point...lol. Go try and buy an EMTB. Good luck even finding one without a wait. Now, go find a regular MTB. They'll ask... how many you want?
