grizzatom Added a comment about press release Select and Shred: Commencal's Enduro Team Riders Will Have a Choice of Two Set-Ups for 2021
3/4/2021 2:24pm These bikes have a 92mm (pressfit) bb shell width, so you can choose your 12spd crank arm length and chainline. I still can't get over how good these builds look, except for the saddle scrotum.

2/24/2021 8:41am Nope, it's 203mm or die on this frame. Just bolt on your caliper and go. The 38 does need an adaptor though, strangely enough.

2/13/2021 2:54pm That is some pretty nice machining on that stem. Solid enough but so hollow. And clean outside lines.

2/3/2021 9:45pm I think HPP bikes would be a dog to pump because the rear wheel doesn't want to stay in the same place as you pump. Hardtails pump better than full-suspension bikes, and I feel like a HPP bike would pump even worse. I don't think most beginner and intermediate riders would notice this because I think most beginners and intermediates are just hanging on to survive aggressive trails, but when you want to go real fast you have to pump everything. This would obviously be less of a factor on steeper and rougher trails, though.

2/3/2021 5:39pm In addition to wondering about the consequence of the wheel moving forward during rebound, I also wonder about the wb lengthening on steeper jumps. I don’t have any experience on bikes with a high pivot design but am definitely curious

2/3/2021 5:39pm My experience is all on a Druid, so take that into account. The rebound damping on the rear ends up being very light. I'm 170lbs on a large Druid and run 1 click from open on the stock DPX2 and the 2021 X2. On black tech trails the rear end reacts swiftly, but doesn't overreact, if you get my meaning. It's controlled without feeling dead. As you unweight to exit a turn, the rear end tucks back in and it's ready for the next thing. On jump trails, I was worried about getting bucked on deep landings due to the...

2/3/2021 5:39pm Ive had a few HPP bikes and always found positives and drawbacks that were similar. Often the drawbacks arent discussed - changing WB in cornering requires more active body positioning and you have to learn a new method; jumps feel unusual on the lip but can adjust to it; "poppy" feeling is gone; front wheel lifting is very hard; pedalling feels inefficient. Overall i always felt it took more effort to get up to speed, but then easier to maintain. When I went to HPP though, I actually didnt go faster, when I went back to non-HPP i actually went...

2/3/2021 12:21pm That which pivots backward must pivot forward again. This high pivot stuff gets a bit oversold as a cure-all. What happens in the damper and what kind of feedback is given to the rider during the REBOUND stroke when all that rear end mass swings back forward? This is the part that no one selling them seems to talk about. In all the testing I've seen, there is most definitely a trade off for all that rear center growth, regardless of the chain's path. I'm not against high pivot bikes at all, but I would prefer if there were some...

Ive met Minaar, Peaty, Charlie Harrison, several others as well as Moir. Not a big deal but Jack is def not 6'4". Someone's yankin ya chain. Minaar is right about 6'4", but no one else, unless you get to Cathro heights. He's listed at 186cm here, unless Jack had a growth spurt in the last couple years? https://m.pinkbike.com/news/winning-bike-from-rotorua-intense-factory-r…

Jack Moir is NOT 6'4". Has anyone here met him in person? He is closer to 6'1" or maybe 6'2" at the very most (Neko is 6ft for reference in the linked photo). He's just a lanky bloke of a ripper. He's within the recommended size range for a Large frame. He definitely runs a unique setup but not crazy for his size and his DH background. Much respect to him, he's one of the most enjoyable dudes to watch ride and race. His style kind of reminds me of the Ratboy of old, who is coincidently the same height...

1/31/2021 8:14pm Sick mang. So how you liking the carbon wheels? Furst set or do you always carbon? Damn those ENVE'sv are steep! I went with DIY carbon wheelset. An enduro internal 31mm external 35mm with DT 350s, only $775 shipped. All black, no bling, Nice. First carbon wheelset too so not sure what to expect there as well.

2/1/2021 1:45pm I've been riding Enve wheels for the past 8 years. I have connections in the industry, so I've demo'd carbon wheels from Zipp, Santa Cruz, Crank Bros, WAO, and several others. They are each good wheels in their own way, but I can't find any that feel quite the same to me as the Enves. I know they are spendy, but they have something going for them, especially with the rim strip on the 7 series wheels. As a big rider, I simply can't ride alloy wheels. They can feel good for a few rides but I always end up...

1/28/2021 10:03pm First off, you'll love the TR. It's a well- thought-out, beauty of a bike. I would feel comfortable riding any trail or bike park on it. It handles everything you throw at it, especially with a meat basher fork like the 38 or Zeb. I think both are really good forks. The 38 is a bit of a trick to get dialed in due to its new air spring, but once I got it figured out it took my confidence to a new level. I don't worry at all about mixing suspension brands. I just run whatever has the features...

1/27/2021 10:49pm Yes, I rode the stock air can as well and it was very good. I really don't feel like the bike needs the Meg Neg per se. Since I am a larger rider I do prefer it over the stock can. It allows me to have a soft, sensitive feel to the first half of the travel and keep the BB height nice and low, while still having a very solid ramp up at the end of the travel. I'm running max spacers in the negative air spring, so I'm increasing the negative volume by the least amount possible vs...

Primoz Liked a comment about Feature Dissecting Shimano's Patented Anti-Dive Suspension Control Device
1/26/2021 9:15am Since you mentioned F1 I have to add that the primary, by far, role of suspension on an F1 car is to keep the aerodynamic platform as constant as possible. Ideally, after setting the rake of the car, it would then stay perfectly raked to the ground at the same ride height at all times and, most importantly, at all speeds, but nevertheless the suspension taking care of the bumps. There were cars like that, but then active suspension got banned. Now, with passive suspension, tyres mainly deal with the bumps (going to 17 inch tyres will throw a wrench...

1/25/2021 11:27am Gonna go out on a limb here and guess this will be used on E-bikes. I can't see this being useful for a regular Enduro/DH application in any race situation.
