Yes, I rode the stock air can as well and it was very good. I really don't feel like the bike needs the Meg Neg per se. Since I am a larger rider I do prefer it over the stock can. It allows me to have a soft, sensitive feel to the first half of the travel and keep the BB height nice and low, while still having a very solid ramp up at the end of the travel.
