Weight is as pictured, with pedals. After a long wait, it finally arrived. Coming off my Sight C1. This thing fits and pedals very similar and only weighs about 1/2 pound more. The frame is even prettier/burlier than I ever could have imagined! Need more ride time on it, but so far very in love.

I'm 6'3" with average leg length for my height. The 200mm dropper works perfectly for me on this frame. Its nice to tuck it out of the way for steeps. That along with the low standover of the Meta gives you great lateral maneuverability on the bike.

Yes, I rode the stock air can as well and it was very good. I really don't feel like the bike needs the Meg Neg per se. Since I am a larger rider I do prefer it over the stock can. It allows me to have a soft, sensitive feel to the first half of the travel and keep the BB height nice and low, while still having a very solid ramp up at the end of the travel. I'm running max spacers in the negative air spring, so I'm increasing the negative volume by the least amount possible vs. stock. Again the bike has plenty of progression built in, but I do like the Meg Neg for the extra bit of tuneability needed for my size.

Hey thanks for the details, I really appreciate the input.

I preordered the META AM 29 a month ago and with all the waiting I realized I truly needed the TR based on the trails I predominantly have access to. So I switched out my April preorder to the beautiful Gunmetal META TR like yours.

This lead me to searching for pics and builds and I eventually found this page. 

The choice to switch from the AM to the TR also caused me to have to return my Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate for a different frame specific size and I'm presented with the opportunity to consider a completely different shock or even switch out my Zeb Ultimate.
I get mixed opinions on mismatched suspension brands but seeing your setup is quite the encouragement.

So how are you liking the Fox 38 up front?

I'm opposite of you with a Zeb upfront considering a Fox in the rear.

If I kept the zeb, I will for sure need a 160mm air spring downgrade from the 170mm.

I'm coming from a hard-core hardball with a RockShox Sektor 150mm travel and this is my first fully. So I'm sure it's gonna be amazing but I also want it to be near perfect.

I've been riding Enve wheels for the past 8 years. I have connections in the industry, so I've demo'd carbon wheels from Zipp, Santa Cruz, Crank Bros, WAO, and several others. They are each good wheels in their own way, but I can't find any that feel quite the same to me as the Enves. I know they are spendy, but they have something going for them, especially with the rim strip on the 7 series wheels. As a big rider, I simply can't ride alloy wheels. They can feel good for a few rides but I always end up having to re-tension and true the wheels constantly. They also cut tires constantly. Carbon has changed the game for me. I ride hard and I haven't experienced a pinch flat or even touched up a loose spoke on the latest generation Enves. I've had one cracked rim over those 8 seasons, and it was a snap to get a replacement. I know experiences vary and carbon may not be for everyone, especially smaller riders, but I'm sold for life.

Sick mang. So how you liking the carbon wheels? Furst set or do you always carbon? Damn those ENVE'sv are steep! I went with DIY carbon wheelset. An enduro internal 31mm external 35mm with DT 350s, only $775 shipped. All black, no bling, Nice. First carbon wheelset too so not sure what to expect there as well.

First off, you'll love the TR. It's a well- thought-out, beauty of a bike. I would feel comfortable riding any trail or bike park on it. It handles everything you throw at it, especially with a meat basher fork like the 38 or Zeb. I think both are really good forks. The 38 is a bit of a trick to get dialed in due to its new air spring, but once I got it figured out it took my confidence to a new level. I don't worry at all about mixing suspension brands. I just run whatever has the features I want, hence the Super Deluxe with the Meg Neg. You can find a good balance with virtually any quality suspension, in my experience. So do the rear post mounts on the Trail need a relocation bracket to do a 203mm rotor? When I originally ordered the AM frame it was 203mm by default, no bracket. The trail version looks likes it needs brackets.

Nope, it's 203mm or die on this frame. Just bolt on your caliper and go. The 38 does need an adaptor though, strangely enough.

OK right on thanks for confirming! In the meantime I had a chance to also reach out to commencal. Because the picture on the TR frame only shows a post mount adapter attached to the frame itself. They said that was an old 3-D render image and confirmed the same as you.
