12/20/2023 7:44am Seems DH fans are expecting a lot out of a niche sport. There's not that many sports where the athletes make direct money from TV revenue. Sadly, for now, the only way we can help riders "make more money" from being on TV is by tuning in. It's a salary sport, and good salaries for top riders. It's not a prize money sport (luckily for the riders) and not a TV revenue sport, cos the previous TV provider probably didn't make huge money from their free streaming model. So expecting riders and teams to get.money from TV revenue in year...

12/20/2023 3:48am service needs to be paid as nothing is for free. rider vlogs are paid mostly by outside industry partners, plus rider sponsors. how outside industry: the platform (mostly YT in this case) made the transformation to all industries with ads. if you don't want ads: it's the user who pays. would i pay for YT? no i'd rather watch ads...

12/20/2023 3:34am if you don't like it enough to pay for it, fair enough. it seems lot of people don't care much at all about racing or just so little they don't have to pay for it. so it wouldn't be a problem for most if racing and or streamin will be shut. will discovery pay riders? probably not or not yet...

12/20/2023 2:12am one can only imagine if 55% of the vital fanbase didn't watch worldcups in 2023 and 20% doesnt even bother watching the worldcups at all, how bad it is in the world out there
a cashflow driven corporate company like discovery will pull the plug quicker than the keyboard warriors moan about the fee rising. edit: and i hope...

12/20/2023 1:33am My turn to chime in...... While I agree with almost most of you, not all, but most. Plain and simple. Money. Money is the root of all evil. I did pay for GCN last year because I've never missed a race in almost 20 years. I do wake up at 2am, 3 am, 4am because nothing beats live coverage. Highlights are cool and all. But nothing beats live coverage. Do I think 2023 coverage was up to par. Sure. Absolutely. Drones were troubling at times. To the one commenting on Rob and what not. Yes. Ric and Cedric need some...

12/15/2023 2:30pm Look man, I love the bulldog, but he has been on record shit talking the GT bike as a piece of shit that no one could possibly win on and went back to Mondraker. Then in interviews, Mondraker was the bike that now, no one could be competitive on. I really hope he finds something he gels with, because damn is he fun to watch ride a bike. I'mma go watch Gamble now

12/15/2023 5:31am until this year i was like "ma, i've spent my money on more stupid ways, so i don't mind spending this little for low quality streams" i don't mind paying for a service. it was low costs for low service so fine. by increasing costs this should definately mean increasing the service. for example: finally getting a better cam quality...

12/11/2023 5:15am Because it's chinese? Hate to break it to you, but when it comes to road stuff, carbon wheels and mechanical drivetrain groups from China appear to be pummeling western products into the ground. I don't think it's a good idea to wholly dismiss overseas stuff and development...

12/11/2023 5:12am Loris to Syndicate just made up rumors or backed up rumors? If that's true, the Syndicate needs some explanaitions up their sleeve for letting Greg go and bringing back Loris.

12/7/2023 6:49am You're probably right, but at the end of the day wasn't it his choice to cash out and sell to PON? You can't have it both ways and to me, he comes off as an entitled asshole stuck in his version of "the good ol' days". I don't know how the decision to cut Greg happened, but I think it would be smart build the future of the team around Jackson and there's only so much a brand can budget for a race team. Speculating that the budget was set, and the decision was between keeping Greg and cutting support...

12/6/2023 2:56am Speculation is that Greg was supposed to have a big year last year (World Champs Fort Bill) and go out 'on top'. Or at least with a good year under his belt. Santa Cruz hurting like all other brands right now probably planning to have him off the payroll for 2024--which was likely a huge relief. Then his season started going to shit and and it all started piling up. He had tons of bad luck and his season was lack-luster. He has said himself he didn't want to go out like that. Also, I don't think Greg is getting...
