6/29/2022 11:03am Waiting for the snopes fact check to come out, explaining that many mountain bikers fly to various events, and FAA flight patterns require cruising altitudes of more than 3,600 feet. Therefore snopes rates this cnn article as “mostly true”

6/28/2022 1:43pm No real suspension linkage on that bike; just a pivot at the bottom and the pivot bolt at the shock. Remove the bolts and use some grease to reassemble. There are probably bearings in the frame you may need to tap out and re-grease.

6/28/2022 1:30pm Anybody know what the elevation is at the top of Rampage? 3,600 feet sounds almost likely. EDIT: Hurricane is 3,248, LaVerkin is 3,192. Virgin shows 3,606. I think I figured it out!
Falcon Added a reply to Will gas prices impact your mountain biking?
6/16/2022 1:30pm This same question was raised in VitalMX. I said "no" at the time, but that's because I ride MX maybe once a month, and the fuel is only a small part of the expense. To ride MTB at my local trails is really only about 10 miles away, but to do it every weekend.... well, it's worth looking at. That's...
Falcon Added a reply to Can we please talk about Angel's insane huck to flat on the motorway?
6/15/2022 10:44am Then that shot angle must be working on me, too!
It sure looks to my eyes like he is kissing the last part of downhill with his rear tire, and flat at best with his front. Maybe it's simply because he soaks it up so well...

6/14/2022 2:45pm Adrenaline, killer suspension, and the angle of the shot probably all contribute. I bet the spot where he landed was still at the very trailing end of the downhill portion of that feature. As long as he got his rear wheel on the ground early, it's more of a slap-down landing than a huge frame-breaker. Still gnarly, though.
Falcon Added a reply to EWS Coverage & the overall ROI for companies sponsoring enduro racers
6/7/2022 1:13pm Any kind of racing sponsorship is difficult to activate. If they can do it for DH, they can do it for Enduro as well. If anything, I think Enduro is more relatable to the average consumer anyway; we regular Joes can imagine riding a bike up to the top of the nearest hill and bombing down, all on a bike...
Falcon Added a reply to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl Loses $10.5m Lawsuit, Suspends Mountain Biking
5/20/2022 10:44am I've had lawyers contact me on behalf of my medical insurance. They are looking to clean me out of a portion of any monies I may have received as a result of litigation for accidents. Look dude, I didn't sue anyone or collect any money; I just went in to get an x-ray from my MTB crash! If you ever...
Falcon Added a reply to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl Loses $10.5m Lawsuit, Suspends Mountain Biking
5/20/2022 10:40am Guys, it's all on you not to hit immovable objects, but it is also on the bike park facility to assume with reasonable certainly that riders can and will crash. Removing all potential problem spots may be impossible, but adding them, as in the rebar mentioned above, or the 4x4 signpost involved in Ski Bowl's lawsuit, should be done with...

4/22/2022 11:56am ^ Nic, can you run the watch by itself, without a phone paired to it? (Or with a paired phone left in the car, for instance?)

3/29/2022 10:53am Start with hardtails with a suspension fork. Upgrade to better full-sus bikes later, if you like the sport and can afford to do so. I'd recommend something like a Vitus or a Diamondback; great spec components, not too pricey. I'm sure you can find something for your Corolla, but I don't have any personal experience with racks. Look at Thule...
Falcon Added a reply to Factory vs. Performance Elite
3/18/2022 12:58pm If I could afford it, Factory, all the time. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but Kashima Koat looks cool and just knowing that it works better for someone is good enough for me. Yeah, I'm that guy.

Falcon Added a reply to Mountain Biking and Head Injuries - Support and Information
2/28/2022 1:50pm I've only had one loss of consciousness, but that was a doozy. I was racing motocross and I came to while my friend was walking me back to the truck. I had been out for 10 minutes, and then woke up and responded to the EMTs' questions for a while before they let me go. I still wasn't aware I...
Cool bike, but that color. Ugh! It's like they hired a small team of experts and gave them $10,000 each to come up with the ugliest thing they could. This is the end result of their year-long mission to find perfection in that endeavor.
