After riding one of our ransom demos a bit, I was surprised at how neutral the hixon bar on it did feel. I think Scott did a pretty good job of finding a position that will fit the majority of set and forget riders. As well as those who don’t lean too far either way on bar roll, and would most likely become accustomed to it pretty quickly. General consumer types and less experienced riders will never notice. Fortunately for the ocd who can’t stand the feeling of a bar being slightly too far one way or the other, myself...

Unlike others on these forums I have no industry affiliations. I just love the sport. I spend money buying bikes and riding as much as possible while balancing a family, mortgage, job, etc. from my perspective articles like this are only damaging. I don’t care enough to really look into it, but headlines like this regardless of the veracity of the claims on either side taint the sport. Do I believe Martin? Sure. Do I believe Richie? Less so. But before I knew any of this I enjoyed watching them ride and following their careers. Now I will enjoy it...

How many days ago did Shimano say they couldn’t deliver XTR hubs and before that cranks cranks? Wow sram couldn’t have had it better to announce top tier product. I would hate to be in the Shimano HQ tomorrow.

Just that the ol' baggy moto style feels quite outdated by now. No need for sausage-skinsuits, but modern slim fit looks great for racers.

I saw on one of the other sites the Ransom is full bearings, which is the main culprit in the increase in weight over the Genius frame.

I'm a moderately skilled weekend warrior mountain bike rider, and a highly skilled road course racing driver (Miata's) including some endurance races. I don't have much to add with regards to making adjustments to Richie Rude's riding because I just can't put as much energy into the bike/terrain as he can. What I can interject with is what i know from endurance racing. The best endurance racing drivers know how to extract 98-99% from the vehicles capabilities without putting the car at 99-100% of what it can stand mechanically. I'd be interested to see what the method of flatting was. Sidewall tear, rim destruction, tear in the tread, pinch flat etc. I wonder if he could pinch flat with cush core.
