E bikes are bad for mountain biking. It’s a shame they are used on most of the same trails (for now). At least be honest and have a throttle on it — it’s an overpriced weak moto (and yes all these e bikes can be hacked to go ALOT faster) I can’t think of why a mtb website would review these other than $$$, vital you should be...more

If you look between the idler and the chainring it looks like there's an extra link there, a bit like the Demo/Enduro linkage. Looking forward to see the full bike, Commencal does interesting things

Then you would be wrong, in more than one ways. As excellently explained by Lord 🤖. What your feeling is brake squat. Also, your suspension doesn't stop moving, but it gets more compressed compared to if you were not dragging the brake, as if you were running a stiffer spring.

Fun fact, when Fabien Barrel rode for kona he ran the brake link reversed, to get more brake squat for steeper tracks.

I thought I would miss Turman as a reviewer, but with this kind of excellent stuff from Brad maybe I won't? Great stuff!

It's called cultural appropriation. And it's going out of style. Feel free to remain stuck in the past.

It's a matter of privilege. If you're part of the privileged group, you won't notice it.

This is a question that we get a lot these days considering the mass offerings of coil spring conversions available on the market.

Forgive me if I am misreading you here, but do you think that is a step in the process we somehow missed? At the risk of being redundant, the clip in the video is for demonstration purposes, not a literal display of what we did once over the course of a four-month test.

I have this conversation with a lot of customers. In the PNW, these are 2nd/3rd/etc bikes. If you want one rig for everything, most of these brands offer a 140mm 29er, which seems to be the sweet spot. Unfortunately, the 140mm completes typically come with a spec...more

If Martin Maes would have got to keep his wins and not get punished he would have been the one with a big "*" above his name. Like it or not, taking that substance made him able to take other more potent banned substances without it showing in testing. ... more »
