I believe it was Jesse Melamed (correct me if I'm wrong, JM) who said he would shift to the next gear while stationary in the start gate because the shifting-under-load was so good. He would start in a slightly easier gear which allowed him to accelerate up to speed faster and then the gear would shift cleanly and he'd be...

I don't recall seeing info on the Blur 5 here yet, but I think both Tobin Ortenblad and Ruth Holcomb were on it at the BCBR.

Damn. I can’t even remember which version of my team I stuck with but I used the rain to talk myself out of Sacha Earnest and Ryan Pinkerton and I’m pretty sure I replaced ‘em with Marine Cabirou and Ethan Craik. Damn damn.

When I stopped by Yeti a 18-ish months back to try a couple bikes for sizing, one of the employees said some of the staff's fave bikes were the 135 with a 29" up front. Not "recommended" but said it was fun and rode well. I wasn't in the market for a bike like that but I thought it was...

oo glad to see the base Clash is back in stock. when they did the re-release, I was worried about them not releasing a base model. I'm wondering if they are hoping to clear the rest of this stock before bothering with a base model of the new frame. at least I'm pretty sure a 5k model with a Zeb Ultimate is not supposed to be the base model going forward lol I'd probably just buy a Zink (as i am currently considering) over a Clash but yeah. Building out a frame can get you closer to ~4k, depending on...

Long time lurker… longer than I’ve been an ‘official’ member… Phoenix local here… DH tires. Cushcore.. and a Neo Shock. I ride a 2023 Rocky Mountain Altitude and the Neo- has been an absolute game changer for me. I pedal a lot.. and it has made my enduro into a ‘trail-duro’ it’s been a huge innovation for me. DH tires and cushcore so I don’t get stranded in the desert heat and can bash the rocks back.. Neo to pedal all day. I’d recommend it for the type of riding I have out the front door from the house.

No Lycra here. All XC and downcountry all the time since I'm in the midwest of the US. Pedaling matters 100% of the time to me. It doesn't matter to you and that's cool. Most people on mountain bikes (not ebikes) do some amount of pedaling where they'd find themselves less happy if their experience pedaling were noticeable made worse...

3 races, 3 elite men winners, 9 out of a possible 9 distinct guys on the podium. How crazy is that?

This meme continues to be a poor interpretation of carcinization/convergent evolution... The crab is not some final form that everything is destined to become. The lesson from carcinization is that unrelated species independently evolved into crab-like bodies. Not that we will one day all be crabs. I think a more fitting example of carcinization in the bike industry would be floating brake arms: a variety of bike manufactures independently arriving at a similar tech to solve the same problem. And at the end of the day, that shit is sitting at the bottom of the ocean
