Curmudgeon moment incoming, my apologies: This is exactly the reason I don't give a shit about motocross or cars or a million other things. I 100% don't give a shit about numbers. "Oh, but this one can do 150nm of power!" Cool. I don't care. I don't ride a bike looking for the easiest way to do anything. Does it...

I think that'll be a popular rig in many parts of the US in the MST timezone, as well as for a number of my fellow northern Midwest folx. Can't speak to the rest of the globe. But I agree, their non-mtb offerings have been pretty damn compelling since the OGs returned.

Radial Rock Razor, that would be cool! But there are better tires on the horizon Smile Trying to determine this tire snapshot from just the side profile is actually pretty hard, especially since we do prototype testing with the Cannondale Factory Team. But i think the boring answer is the correct one in this case, and to me it looks like a Rick. Edit: Found another shot from the same photo shoot. It was a Race Pro Thunderburt... Back to tire school

It's almost like they went "let's make a competition Phil Atwill would win and then see if he wants to fly over from Greece." I love watching him ride and I think he's a great get for the series. I was already planning to watch but now I'm extra curious to see how Phil, Luca Cometti, Kyle, Eddie, and Tegan...

Caveat: I don't know anything. I ride a short travel trail bike and I've not been in mtb for very long. I've ridden lots of bikes for a long time but I'm only 3 years and 2 bikes into the whole mtb thing so my experience is limited. ...but I think the idler solves more problems than just pedal kickback...

One challenge with low volume apparel is amortizing the development cost. Soft goods sometimes cost more to develop than hard goods as it's a ton of labor making patterns, sewing up samples, testing, reworking the protos, repeat this several times, then have the factory make a few pre-production samples to make sure they interpreted your tech pack correctly. You also need to validate for durability (all brands do this, right? RIGHT?). It's as much voodoo as it is hard science, which means lots of back and forth. Yes, we give them CAD files for patterns, but it's still all hand...

worked at Arc'teryx for 17 years (and then onto 7mesh for 6) and can say that it doesn't cost $18 to make the shorts. Their margins aren't much different then any other technical apparel brand so not 10x. At least this time they've actually made product. Back in the day they brought on Richie Schley as an ambassador to help with an mtb program without allocating ant design resources etc and killed the program before getting started.

Interesting! Keep us updated on the Magnotals. I'd love to hear some more real-world experience with them. The only "review" I've seen of the new Conti tires are the GuyKesTV Dubnital review and his Trinotal review where he mentions the Magnotals. He didn't love the Trino or Magno but that the Dub was good if you ride it for what...
I'm wearing some weird Wrangler All Terrain Gear pants that I saw on sale. Biggest selling points: were cheap, slim cuffs at the ankle to keep out of chain but had enough room for knee pads, seemed to be durable material, had built-in belt so I could keep pants on during my ride. Previously all of my shorts/pants would fit...
I planned to get a TEMPO until I realized it had headtube cable routing. I have the Meta HT and it rips so I had planned to stay with Commencal. I ended up going with a bike I liked a bit better anyway (a sale came around and made it work out) but I think I'd have been happy on...

That’s some good mathing Robot! I was there a total of 13 years across two separate stints of 5 and 8 years. It’s a long fucking time to do anything! My wife landed her dream job which required a relocation to Nashville. I’m enjoying some time as a stay at home dog dad and slowly figuring out what’s next!

European retailer just leaked new Marin downcountry bike. Marin TAM XR - 2026 – Simple Bike Store Not the prettiest frame I've ever seen but with the rumored death of the Chisel I'd say there is space for an aluminum DC rig. 130mm front, 65 degree HTA. Release date looks like 4/17 according to the Marin website.

I actually left Maxxis in February 🥲 so I'm not tied into the day-to-day anymore. I would expect them fairly soon though as they were ordered months ago.

Sounds like my theory has already been proven by people smarter than myself.. Daniel at Neuhaus was saying a lot of the same.. He is feeling that standover will be a bigger issue, especially with suspension still being figured out. He did however bring up 750D as a way to go... Which measures out to roughly, wait for it.... 30.5...
