I do remember that last year someone mentioned he'd only really gotten a bike deal from Forbidden and maybe it was just for a year to see how things were going to shake out on both sides. With all the changes coming up, maybe the Synthesis team is no more and haven't announced it yet. Maybe he'll be riding a re-branded Gasgas reg bike for Crankworx and redbull events and their E-bikes day to day? He'd be good pull for them. If Hyper can field athletes on one off bikes for what? 12-15 years now since they snagged Eric Carter...

Aren't quite a few of the main teams "family" teams or started there and grew? Commencal Muc-off, FMD racing, Atherton, Commencal Les Orres, maybe others? I think they'll all be fine. I also think Myriam, tahnee and a few other riders like Amaury who had bad concussions or injuries recently have been vocal about how it's not about "just showing up" and going fast. They want care and support from teams as well as organizations like WBD and the UCi. Not just a track and a number board. So hopefully the changes to world cup racing will allow some professionalization...

This is a great opportunity for an out-of-industry team to come together. Imagine a Fordyota / WD-40 type team with Gwin, Neko's crew and another good, but not top-15, team. Multiple frame sponsors under one organization, great media reach for adverts, and if done right could go toe-to-toe with the big teams. There's got to be quite the war raging behind the scenes right now for those #10-15 team spots. Banking on a wildcard seems risky, to say the least.

On another tangent.... Ohlins have just been purchased by Brembo (Motorsport brake gods) So maybe if we are lucky we may see some Brembo bike brakes in the future to match the suspension...

Here is my vision on the 2025 teams (be careful with riders changing teams, this will change a lot !) : Red ones are stopping or rumoured to be stopping Green ones are becoming top 15 Yellow ones would be the five wild cards Orange ones would like a spot too Blue ones will go to continental series ?

Yeah man, Colombia would be very very cool. But the organizational structure is LOOSE!! I went to the BMX World Champs in Medellin and on the morning of racing the gate fail and the track was falling apart, no one would do anything, so an Aussie guy fixed the gate & I was part of a team of kiwis who...

Just no lift or access infrastructure for gravity racing. The last race in 2006 had 200m vert & the winning time was 2.16.31 by Matti on his Honda... Ended on a beach though... cool...

Somebody I know knows the management at Whiteface, so I got some info on the Lake Placid race course. Top of Lower McKenzie, though the glades, jumps off mid station, into Stag Brook, across Fox, then finishes at the bottom of the gondola.

Anywhere but the Cains track... In BMX World Cups we had to align events within NZ & AUS before the UCI would consider coming to the southern hemisphere. So, this would need some form of trans-Tasman planning, to offer a logistical solution to bring the WC DH Circus south. Possibly even look further afield to align an Asian round at...

One assumes that they would use the gondola to Little Whiteface peak for the start, for the race track to return to the base, giving approx. 710m vert for the track...

As an event announcer myself I will say it is totally plausible that the announcer forgot in the moment it was top 3 for the overall. Even at the world cup level no one gives the announcers a script of the podiums, they just get an overall points sheet for the updated overall standings and then call the appropriate numbers of riders to that podium for each class. There are a lot of podiums at the final race, so easy for something to slip... Based on Marcus J's observation that Myriam and Nina weren't ready and the champagne bottles had...

So on Gwin's stories he is at what I understand is Whiteface. Looking at one of the pictures he is near the White face quad. Using the Whiteface Quad alone would not give the elevation for a WC track (approx 400m vert) They would need to use the next quad (Summit Quad) to gain more elevation (up to 965m vert)...

Just a thought with changes in race team structure from WB, if the top Elite team are limiting their numbers due to costs and WB limiting general access, many of the Elite team don't have female representation. So, this will limit the fields of Women in the sport. I'm not saying that team should be forced to add female riders...

Jnr racing has been bloody exciting all year, with the women all so close & the mens at such a high level. Plus we get to watch it all for free!! Bring on next year 10rounds and some fast new riders coming in and some fast ones moving up.
