The issue is the judging doesn't make sense year on year, but then again maybe thats because Rampage itself doesn't seem to know what it is anymore - lets face it the actual event day is a spectacle, a hype fest, and more of a made for TV event than one thats scheduled to actually allow the riders to thrown down the best runs. I think that narrative is awkward. But it does justify the scoring and placing a bit more. At the end of the day we aren't seeing what these riders would do on Luke or Talus line or whatever. This is exactly it. Front flips are harder than backflips, but they aren't as cool to watch or fun to do. So some people will rank them higher and some people will rank them lower. Cam Mccaul was on the latest Moving the Needle podcast and they talked a lot about judging at Rampage this year. Definitely some good points on how things have been scored int he past and inconsistency this year, but also pointed out how insane the level of riding was this year. Worth a watch.

I am not saying there is bias of a Red Bull rider winning Rampage. Just some additional detail. Straight was a Red Bull rider in 2004, wasn't in 2013. Lacondeguy was a Red Bull rider in 2014 when he won Semenuk has won 5 times, been a Red Bull rider the entire time Also, had Godziek won, he is also a Red Bull rider.

I mean... How's that gonna work? When Cam Zink won with basically a one banger (by doing the hardest move of the event)... I would choose to watch Brendogs run over the others for sure, TMacs was a fairly close second though. Having said that, I don’t think it should win Rampage and I feel like he even knows that. Semenuks run was not worthy of the win imo though. I felt like I was watching slopestyle.

The fact that bender is a judge still is crazy. What does that mean know about technical lines or flat flipping a drop.

Full rider line up decision would be nice, but there's too much money for that obviously. (And to be honest there's too much at stake to have whatever panel of judges they probably have now tbh) Can't do a fan vote because then Brendog would take 1st which, while a great run, probably doesn't make sense at least for the entire format.
