3 reasons, bike brands got greedy and started creating new bike standards which built in forced obsolescence on components and frames, so a new bike only lasts a few years before it's no longer compatible with new available components, vs one that was good for ten years or more back in the early noughties, or literally for decades in the 90s. Brands chased the money making 10k bikes that no one can afford as times got harder, they chased profit per unit rather than vfm and that detached new bike purchasing from the really loyal die hard fans. Ready for each and every down vote. Where the hell did the “blade” thing come from. The thing your finger touches is a lever. Normally on a bicycle a first class lever. It is connected to a master cylinder. When we had cantilever brakes I don’t remember anyone calling them “blades”. No other industry calls what is used as the interface where the human interacts with the braking system a blade. I’m sure I’m “Old man yelling at clouds” Come at me bro

Well at least end caps are easily and relatively cheaply replaceable. Rule #1, always modify the cheapest/ most easily replaceable part first. Rule #2, have replacement part in hand before starting.

Having ridden one of these for a few days I can confirm its a truly amazing fork. The front wheel gives so much more grip and tracks the ground like no other fork I have ridden. The support and composure are fantastic, out of the box it is just great. I pumped it up to the recommended pressure, dialed in the rebound and compression as Fox advised and rode it, I have yet to feel the need to change anything.

Coil forks inherently behave very differently to coil shocks, simply because the shock is driven by some kind of linkage that greatly affects how it feels in different sections of the stroke whereas the fork is 1 to 1 in terms of wheel travel to fork stroke (the stroke IS the travel). Coil forks ramp up a fair bit more than you'd think, reading all the "coil is linear" comments. "Linear" doesn't mean that it lacks ramp...it just means that it doesn't get PROGRESSIVELY harder to compress. You still need way more force to compress the last bit of coil...

9/8/2025 7:56am I mean it was just the old school way of adding volume tokens. Plus oil actually lubricated the forks better so it served a purpose. I wish we'd see more forks with greater lubricating bath volumes again. I'd absolutely take the weight for the huge loss in friction.

Yeah dude if you don’t have a couple e-fats hanging off the back of the RV don’t even bother showing up to the 50s diner sports bar in this town. Names like PEDALOOG and VICTROX in big silver letters on the big square downtube beam member are a bonus.

I do not see how they jump from $13,000 to $20,000? Maxima's are $1500 a set. electringWings are $1000, Podium is $700 more than 38, the Hydra2 are no different in price than DT240 DEG. Sounds like they are charging full premium over the "base" S works Levo build. Kind of shady.
