it's interesting reece brings les gets into it b/c (from the coziness of the internet, having never been to either venue) that track seems really similar to loudenvielle in that it's high speed and mostly "just dirt," no obvious rocky tech sections like vds or msa. i also thought that by race day loudenvielle was an extremely technical ride. it wasn't wheel-eating rocks, but that first steep left hander that caught people out, that left that bode burke hovered through, and all the other razor thin lines meant skill, delicate braking and bike setup was hugely important. i even find...

i mentioned in the loudenvielle thread, but no lawlor raw or pit bits vids fromt Loudenvielle, Lenzerheide, Andorra or Les Gets. we have 6 US national rounds this year that we decided to put budget into instead. our heart is with domestic racing and helping it grow. with 11 WC rounds (including world champs), we had to make budget choices and this year we had to pay 3k euro to WBD so lawlor could film (this was after our budget/race decisions were made, however). they've always let us in, but that finally ended this year. i don't blame them, it's...

How about Ryan Pinkerton into 6th and 11th at Poland. 2nd year Elite, checkers or wreckers last year but seems to have matured a ton this year and throws down fast but in control runs. If he stays healthy it seems like he could be a consistent threat

I did it! I avoided you dingdongs and my dipshit friends and watched the YouTube Q2 as if it were live, with the only spoilers coming from UCI’s own YouTube channel (a “Dunne destroys another wheel!” and “Harnden crashes out!” Plastered on a couple of shorts…gonna employ a family member to navigate next week). Sick! Start gate rules are apparently beyond us, as a species. You must be there on time but also you can start a couple times if you want to work on your bike for a bit. Against the rules but the only face you see at...

That's the real kicker. The situation was bad enough as is. But being, essentially, right after a junior being DQd for being seconds? late... A minute? How late was he... How can you be so inconsistent? Also, dunno if people already talked about it but Gracey's run needs to be remembered as one of the greatest come back runs in womens DH history. She was DEAD LAST at split 1. By the finish line, she was over 3 up. She gained OVER SIX SECONDS, in all the hardest parts of the track. Against an in-form Vali Holl (who was P1...

Cathro just posted a video on the other side regarding electronic lockouts. One thing I've been considering for a while now, is what is legal with regards to electronic suspension and pre-programming various settings for position on track. From a simplicity perspective, GPS would be the most ideal way to do that, but the nature of mtb trails with trees/cloud cover/mountains etc with GPS isn't perfect. The solution to that, would be to have infrared or NFC (RFID) or bluetooth triggers at certain points next to the track to trigger the changes in bike/suspension setup. This all ties in with...

on that note, just so everyone here is aware, there won't be vital videos from loudenvielle (or andorra or lenzerheide) this year. we decided to put our budget towards covering all of the domestic Pro DH series rounds and TN National races this year instead of full WC calendar. hopefully there's an Ed Bull RAW to keep us stoked LOL. lawlor will be back at Leogang.

my arms aren’t symmetrical in any way: length strength, mobility. Eyeballing bars is fine.

the pad creates a bus stop to slow the riders down.

I think the pad is there since it's assumed riders will be clipping it as they try to stay tight through the chicane. A single pole would likely get kicked out repeatedly. I'm not saying it's possible in this section, but since the pole is outside the pad, wouldn't it be legal to jump over the pad instead of zig-zagging around it?

The prospect of another mud race is leaving me a bit flat. Mud races are cool, but only mud races gets a bit dull. Hopefully we get some dry races later in the season.

if the rules and enforcement of the rules go out the window, then why compete? the wind got sucked out of enduro often b/c of the easy ability to cut the course without penalty. lack of basic rule enforcement is hardly a recipe for a sport to be taken as seriously as the olybet PR makes WC sound. crazy that world cup DH racing (what i thought was the most simple and objective form of MTB competition) has so much subjectivity lately. lack of consistency in course boundaries, the idea that because you crashed doesn't mean you deserve a re-run...
