That seems especially weird (or perhaps merely interesting) doesn't it considering the current Enduro model keeps winning group tests and the line is often "this is the one to buy if you're racing".

I've heard they've signed a young Aussie who is likely to get them some results on both the Reign and Glory Wink

I heard Cody Kelly's shampoo and conditioner requirements are killing the Specialized enduro team budget. Takes a lot of cash to keep those golden locks shiny. That combined with the American Dream's skin tight pants addiction, it is surprising they have anything left to pay the riders.Shocked

Neither Specialized or Trek need to sign anybody to sell enduros and slashes. And as far as supporting the sport at least state side both do a pretty good job of supporting local and regional series enduro. Specialized sponsoring Cody Kelly doesn't do a whole lot for them in terms of international results, but it does do quite a bit in plenty of other areas. It's not like Charlie Murray or Harriet aren't giving both brands some results to be proud of regardless. It's pretty clear the EWS is on a bit of a downturn while enduro racing is only...

Charlie Murray wants to prove you wrong. Finished the season with 2 top 5s and only finished outside the top 15 at 1 race this year, and all that with a win in Trophy of Nations for NZ in his second year as a full time racer.

To be clear, I'd ride this over a V10 any day. Love US made stuff. Don't think I don't see that Thomson post I love so much (people have no idea how bad posts used to bend or explode before they came along) But it's bottle service in the VIP & I'm just trying to scrape together the $5 cover charge at the side door of the Dew Drop Inn.

A huge change while you are successful might well be financially rewarding but may not end up to be the best move results-wise. The likes of Sam Hill and Aaron Gwin can give some food for thought but here's an example from the EWS itself: Jared Graves dominated enduro in 2014 and 2015 aboard a Yeti, which has been his bike sponsor for nearly a decade. After a much-talked about move to Specialized in 2016, his results were not the same. The SB6c was definitely a big difference design-wise to the Spez Enduro back in 2016 (i.e. Yeti was half...

or, just maybe, the quick-witted Eddie Masters was referring with impeccable comic timing to the gentleman in the Forbidden jersey standing next to Remi in the above screenshot

Might not be anything, but at ~11:40 of Jack Moir's Loudenvielle race day vlog, Ed Masters has the camera and makes a joke to Remi after a crash - "looks like you've been on a rocky mountain, or am I forbidden from saying that". Could RemRem be off to the synthesis?

how YT endet their previous commitments definitely left a bitter taste. wouldn‘t trust a word coming from them before seeing the contract if i was a racer.

Brand withdrawing from sponsoring ahtletes when the bike market was crazy enough that they didn't need to advertise to sell all their inventory in order to maximize profit, now restarting to sponsor athletes ... shows you how much they actually care about supporting bike racing and the development of our sport, keep an eye for those as many implemented this strategy of dropping teams like dirt socks at all the levels and disciplines of our sport.

I believe Moir had a factory spot at Cannondale lined up to ride their new DH frame, then they bailed out of DH and left him high and dry. That's why he went "full enduro". He was usually around top 10 in DH, with a 2nd in Ft Bill being his best. Seems to like where he's at, but no idea on the $. His current mechanic is a former YT mob mechanic, so there could be some connection there.
