e*thirteen Radial Tires e*thirteen has new radial casing tires in their Grappler (29”, 27.5”) and Grappler RS (27.5”) models. The tires will be available within the next month and will retail for $79.95 USD. The casing has 6 layers under the tread, 4 under the sidewall, a woven protection layer in the sidewall, and an apex at the bead. Their goal was to give the tire more support with the thicker apex and more layers, while still angling the plies so you get the supple, damp feel of a radial. The layers are placed at a 65° angle, which they...

Stoked for the Spesh gravity team winning world cups on those Brembos, but I don't dig any of those colors. The dipped in colored wax look, isn't for me.

Y’all are absurd with your warranty demands. I’ve destroyed a lot of wheels in my 25+ years of riding. It’s NEVER been the wheel’s fault. Worked in shops for a long time - can count on one hand the number of times a whee was destroyed because of a rim defect. Was a carbon wheel holdout until this year, got some WA1s. Third ride out, got off line at warp speed and double flatted, multiple holes in both tires, needed 6 plugs and a bacon strip to patch it. Surely would have at least flat spotted alloy wheels, but not...

I was a Carbon rim on my enduro/park bike, guy for years. 3 years ago, I went back to running EX511's on my big bikes and most recently, bought a set of Reserve AL/HDs. I have run reserve carbon, chinese off brand carbon, giant trx carbon and roval carbon wheels. Currently, the carbon wheels in my stable are btlos (chinese direct) hoops and an aging set of reserve 30s. A few comments from that experience: 1) The biggest reason draw for me, and thing that I miss about running carbon wheels was the lack of maintenance. I essentially seem to...

I have definitely not solved arm pump, but I have found bigger, more powerful brakes has been the biggest help equipment wise. I'm running Hayes Dominions with 220mm rotors and this year and I get a lot less arm fatigue as I don't have to pull very hard on the brake to get power (this brake setup is almost overkill... almost). Compared to stock Code RSCs with 200mm rotors, the difference is huge. The heat management, power, and ease of lever pull are all great on this setup. Compliant bars seem to help as well. In terms of physical solutions...

Reasons why Red Bull was better: 1) It was free and easy to view. 2) Because it was free more people watched it. 3) We saw more racing. Whilst the addition of Junior Finals coverage is a positive, the reduction to a 10 woman/30 man finals means we are now paying less race runs than ever before. 4) Red Bull's graphics were better. The virtual straight graphic was useful. The wiggly line graphic is pointless. 5) Some of the WBD camera position/type choices are terrible. The overhead drone shots at Ft William were like watching Google Maps. 6) Current coverage...

Having Aaron in the booth has saved the commentary. If it was Ric and Cedric I would'nt watch at all. Ric has'nt got any better this season, he is just not very good in the booth. I mute any time they cut to Josh or the other person. If 'official' means bland generic and corporate......then yes it's more official. Blurry drone footage is pointless. Feels like less track coverage than RB. Not televising semis feels like a way to cut the field without cutting the field (a lot of teams/riders will pull out due to lack of coverage next year) and...

Seems a little odd that most (if not all) of the Pivot/Leatt Team doesn't wear a Leatt neck brace. It must be too much of a hindrance for them.

I mainly found it to be a problem riding really steep stuff or in deep berms. Couldn't get my head round far enough to see the next section of trail. As soon as I became aware of it I found it hard to not be distracted by it.

Mother fu#*%& I just bought the Aenomaly Switchgrade like two weeks ago and now they've dropped a new version. Having ridden the previous three-position model, I can agree with the market feedback. A two position seems better. I will never need the third "downhill" position and having just the two positions I actually need would make on-the-fly changes much easier. I wonder if they're keeping the same degree of change between positions.

So Maxxis is now making the DHRII in 2.5" width compared to the previous 2.4...why? I'm genuinely interested to hear their explanation why .1" wider is better. Curious if they'll sell both widths or just retire (pun intended) the 2.4.

10/10/2023 6:39pm
I should have plunked down the money for the subscription sooner. I missed most of the season. I caught the last four world cups. If you claim to be a true fan then $8 or 9 a month really isn't that bad. I just pay monthly during the racing season and cancel during the winter. I think the camera coverage is fine. The drone shots have been hit or miss. The commentators are just not good enough. Aaron Gwin was a godsend. We need more commentators like him. I feel strongly that the semifinals need to go. I don't care...

Hey Vital, can you guys get an economist to explain supply, demand and popularity to half of the numb skull mountain bikers that bitch about price every time a Santa Cruz comes out? Make it a front page article. Would be amazing. I hate, with a passion, all the complaining about prices. No one is forcing you to buy any product. If you don’t want to buy something don’t. Do you think Ferrari gives a crap that only 1/100 of 1% of the world can afford one of their cars? No they don’t. That being said their is still a...
