Woah woah woah....the bike, the volvo, the landcruiser, the Rocky swag and stickers all over the shop...I mean you even have the maple syrup saddle on the bike! Very impressed. You must not have kids :D

In: marketing. Trying to make the product look like it’s exactly tailored to every customer and no compromises. Out: basic numeracy in the target audience falling prey to the weird mental judo of people with some science and technology experience being especially uncritical of what they hear because they’re confident they can just tell real from not real heuristically. Why it may matter: imagine a normal distribution of riders and how much they shred (a bell curve). I suppose i live somewhere in the middle and maybe even a little below average, shocking as that is on a bike forum...

Was in a longer ride, just finished a descent, and was on a connecting trail that traverses a ridge, and stopped to take a phone call. Bike was leaned up against the rocks and a gust of wind kicked up and tipped it over. I was on a rock slab, and the pedal was up. It had to go maybe 3ft before it could actually fall. When it hit it bounced several times until it went over. Fell maybe 350-400 foot vertical. Completely lame
