One of the most calculated individuals I have ever met! I really enjoyed my time hanging out and riding with the momentum crew in the Sol Vista days.

I hung out with him years ago in Santa Cruz. Rode in Freedom and shuttled Juggs. He rode our most technical jump and bridge filled trail first try after just walking up it. Hope you're running all six rotor bolts nowadays!

Well said Ed - gone are the days of prviateer racers driving out to europe for a month to race world cups out the back of a shitty old transit van. 226 racers entered the Val di sole world cup in 2012 compared with 139 in 2019. And all those privateers who saved all their money to fly out to the North America world cups. 34 British riders raced the Windham WC in 2012, only 19 raced the US WC last year. Basically, if you're from a country with a stacked rider lineup in 2020, your only hope of getting...

Brines and Eddie are right- this ain't a new problem at all. I speak from personal experience in the late 90's when I ate an extremely hard to get $600 on a plane ticket I couldn't use to travel to Italy, Slovenia, and France for 3 WC DH races. Why couldn't I go? Because my UCI points had expired a few days before the races. I wasn't gonna rack up my credit card for the trip if I couldn't race. I called Martin Whiteley, who was the UCI guy who handled such things at the time, and asked him if...

For USA riders last year, there were only 5 chances to earn UCI points domestically, the four Pro GRT rounds and National Champs. Of those 5, only Windrock and Nationals had enough points on offer to get a racer to the minimum needed to race a World Cup (Mountain Creek only awarded 10 points to the winner with Rd. 2 and 4 earning 30). The top-6 at Nationals earned 40 or more points and at Windrock a racer would have needed to place in the top-2. Assuming the normal attendance of WC level riders at these races and the top...

Loïc over the stumps was bananas. For anyone who doesn’t speak French, the quote from the dude immediately following is: ‘Go bring a bottle of champagne to Öhlins. And say thank you. Motherfu....’

That video was about five minutes too long, but it was still funny watching two of the most talented bike riders on the planet scratching their heads as they try to do an ugly/shitty/slow freeride turn.

That looks amazing. Very cool of Transition to get that built. Between that, the bottom of Mohawk, and the Cedar jump line, Galby has a pretty wild amount of big ol jumps these days.

Thanks for the good memories. Makes me want to do a road trip. Those drops were gnarly... I remember having to choose a spot to land between the rocks in the landing. That was a good time.

Looks like a huge priority to be put on deferred maintenance projects (there's loads of those), and not specifically outlining "new trails". Regardless, I see it as blood money for natural resource extraction on our public lands. I'd gladly trade some maintenance for the restoration or Bears Ears, Grand Escalante , ANWAR, etc. Also, looks like 15% of total goes...

Three thoughts by someone who has a fictional serial killer as their avatar: 1.) People with more resources and less integrity will always have an advantage in competition. 2.) It's amusing that mid pack pro means suckage, you're in the 99th percentile of all mammals on a space rock who can ride bikes. 3.) It's nice to have a low number next to your name on a piece of paper and maybe even get a cheap trophy but there is probably more actual reward in learning how to not define our (GO TEAM 35!!!) middle age self worth by performance...
