I got one when they first came out about 2.5 years ago. I installed it on an enduro bike that's a bit of a hog to climb, I was impressed right away. Since then, I have bought 2 more, throwing it on an e-Bike and an, SB140LR. Now, I prefer it so much I see it going hand in hand with a seat post and I personally believe this is one of those MTB products that actually help you go faster on a bike. I can see how one can say the angle from neutral to climbing is a bit...

I would settle for just a "slight tilt" back version. Set it flush at your "dirt road climb" angle with seat all the way up & then a single rock back angle for descents that keeps you from double nut whacking the back of the saddle on the way down.

Fully agree with the review. I like mine, but I'd tilt it more often if the angles were less extreme. Something like -5°, flat, and +5°. As it is, it's a very effective problem solver for the winch 'n' plummet rider.

I agree the drop tilt angle for climbing is a bit more than my preference, but I love the concept and still use it for climbing a ton, even if just to change body position and sit back a little more on the seat. The dh mode is absolutely brilliant. I've loved mine so much that a few friends have them and no one regrets it. Killer idea and product

There are a few ways you can set up the Switchgrade. If you are tall, like your saddle nose pointed down, or never ride flat trails, you don’t need to use the middle position at all. I have the climb position set to my usual saddle position. This puts the descend position in a nice place despite my typical nose-down saddle position. This kind of setup might be terrain and body shape dependent but it works well.

I’ve adapted a bit of a laid back middle position which keeps the forward position not too far forward. Love the laid back mode for shuttle days. I’ve treated mine very badly getting it absolutely filthy through two winters on the North Shore and it still functions as new. Love how solid feeling it is, like something that’ll get moved from bike to bike through the years, Customer service was great after I ordered the wrong type. Would absolutely recommend

Installed the Switchgrade on my Levo and have nothing but praise for it. Will be adding one to my G1 as soon as I can afford to. Great work Aenomaly.

Did you ever find yourself wishing there was a way to change your seat angle on the fly, to make things more comfortable and more efficient in different riding situations? That’s exactly what drove Aenomaly founder, BC-based Noel Dolotallas, to take to the drawing board a few years ago now. He came up with a clever little construct that replaces the top half of the head of your existing seat post, where it provides the ability to easily set your seat angle to one of three, preset positions. Intrigued by the concept, we’ve had one on test for the since...

It's a cool idea but with long travel droppers what exactly is the downside to running a bit of negative tilt? 180-200mm+ you aren't going to ever have the saddle in the way. Assuming you ride somewhere that is climb then descend and not rolling/flat, no downside to a few degrees negative tilt for climbing.

Thanks for your comments and questions. You're absolutely right that there is no downside to negative tilt for climbing - in fact it is the best saddle position for efficient and comfortable climbing. But negative tilt can, however, lead to pain and discomfort on one's shoulders and wrists on flat terrain because the rider's weight is shifted forward leading to added pressure. On descents, negative tilt raises the rear which, in the event of accidental contact, doesn't feel great. Hope that clears things up a bit.
