Aenomaly Unveils SwitchGrade Pro Saddle Angle Adjuster 1

More clicks, customizable range, and more terrain to unlock.

We had no idea how the SwitchGrade would be received when our prototype made its rounds in January 2021. Turns out we weren’t alone in thinking there had to be a better way to tackle long, steep, unforgiving climbs. Building on what we learned, we released the gen 2 model in 2024 with some notable updates. Today we are excited to announce the latest addition to our line of ergonomic-focused riding solutions for those seeking to level-up their performance, comfort, and safety on two wheels.

Introducing the SwitchGrade Pro

From day one, the SwitchGrade has been shaped by customer input. Over the years, one request came up consistently: more control over saddle positioning. And while the SwitchGrade was initially designed for enduro, trail and ebike riders tackling steep climbs, we heard from a growing cohort of riders who used their saddle adjusters for endurance racing, gravel and road riding, and bike-packing adventures.

Granular Control and Customizable Angle Range

The SwitchGrade Pro has been designed from the ground up and features new saddle positioning technologies to designed to answer our customers’ requests for more options and control.

First up is the core technology powering the Pro model called Loc8™ – a variation of our saddle positioning system whose name hints at its function to “locate” and “lock” while giving a nod to the eight possible positions.

Loc8 Indexing
Loc8 delivers 8 positions separated by 5 degrees

Loc8™ is a mechanical indexing method that provides up to 8 discrete saddle positions separated by 5 degrees. Loc8 allows the saddle to rotate freely along the Pro’s 35-degree range while the lever is disengaged, then positively re-index at any position along the arc when released – simply drop and lock. The refined granular indexing makes mid-flight adjustments faster and easier by eliminating the need to “hunt” for engagement.

Next up is another new feature we’re proud to introduce called Climb-it Control™ which lets riders set independent fore and aft hard stops to prevent over-rotation.

Forming a honeycomb structure, the Climb-it Control™ system is comprised of a matrix of staggered holes (a Trypophobiac’s nightmare!) that work in conjunction with the Loc8 indices. Using the system, riders can limit the range of saddle movement to suit their local trail grades and preferences.

Only need 5 degrees? Simply relocate the front and rear limit screws and you’re done. Or, if you’re planning a trip to Finale Ligure or the off-piste double blacks in the Whistler Alpine, keep the system open and ready for steep and varying slopes.

Bold New Minimalist Design

The SwitchGrade Pro features a more compact, streamlined body with a minimalist profile, chamfered edges, and reduced material resulting in a lighter assembly with improved visual integration.

A redesigned narrow lever increases saddle compatibility and improves ergonomics without sacrificing leverage. The new lever design also features an access slot allowing installation on top-loading seatposts commonly found on gravel, road, and bikepacking bikes.

The system continues to use Aenomaly Constructs’ modular compatibility interface, supporting a wide range of popular dropper posts and fixed seatposts while keeping the platform adaptable as standards evolve.

“We put a lot into the SwitchGrade Pro, trying to stay true to our goal of solving big problems as simply as possible. Words make it sound easy but it’s anything but; in fact the simpler something is, the harder it was to get there. This took us 2 years of ideation, design, testing, prototyping, breaking stuff, more testing, and countless iterations and that’s ok by us. It’s the only way as far as I’m concerned.  Every tiny detail exists for a reason so we could deliver what our customers were asking for: finer indexing, more control, and a version suitable for more riding disciplines. Hearing personal stories from our customers keeps the fuel burning. None of this exists without them – here’s looking at you! The DMs, comments, the encouragement – and the hard questions – are what kept pushing us forward. We take a lot of pride in building cool stuff we want to ride, and we take even more pride in building them with, and for, the people who ride them. Your belief in what we’re doing means more than we can gather into words.”
