The all new SwitchGrade EVO boasts a range of exciting new features and enhancements based on customer feedback collected over a span of 3 years. Dubbed “EVO” because it represents not only an evolution of the SwitchGrade, but also speaks to the growth and maturity of our young company as well.

SwitchGrade EVO Highlights

Choice between 2 or 3 Fixed Angle Positions

For many riders, two angle choices may be sufficient for the majority of their rides. The SwitchGrade EVO can be preset as a 2 position default with the ability to unlock a third ‘extra gear’ when things get tough. Epic climb day ahead? Need to claw your way up an ultra-steep pitch? Unlock the third index and mash your way up in comfort. Two positions also makes for lightning fast on-trail shifts with less faff.

Modular Design

Designing for universal compatibility is not easy. Our previous approach relied on three different SwitchGrade models each with its own set of specialty hardware to enable compatibility. While sufficient for most, this model was challenging for customers who later purchased a new bike and/or a new dropper post that was incompatible with their current SwitchGrade. Before, the only solution was to purchase a different SwitchGrade or rebuild it so suit.

Our new modular system comprises a single SwitchGrade complemented by composite shims and aluminum adapters to enable compatibility with a wide range of dropper posts and seatposts. What does this mean for our customers? Increased peace of mind knowing their investment is sound for many bikes to come. Simply purchase a new pack of shims matched to your new dropper post and you’re all set to go! Cheaper, easier, more convenient.

Compatible with Round and Oval Saddle Rails.

Many of our customers are multi-disciplinary riders who own several bikes among which could include gravel, road, bike-packing, touring, adventure bikes or, more mountain bikes. A very common request we received was the ability to accommodate oval saddle rails. In response we have completely redesigned the swingarms to work with both round or oval rails including 7x9 and 7x10. Each SwitchGrade EVO come standard with round rail clamps, however, oval rail clamps are sold separately.

Smaller, Lighter, Stronger and More Badass Than Ever.

Completely redesigned from the ground up, the SwitchGrade EVO features a new, compact asymmetrical interface featuring an A-frame design reducing material while bolstering strength in the process. The redesign offers a more streamlined look with an aggressive stance and bold aesthetics.

New Lower Price, Better Long-term Investment.

SwitchGrades are expensive to design, manufacture, assemble and ship from Canada – there is honestly no way around that. Working closely with our manufacturing partners, we have invested heavily in tooling and have increased production volume intent on lowering costs. And while these investments increase the risks for our small, bootstrapped company, they were truly important to us bearing equal weight to the new features injected into the new SwitchGrade EVO.

As obsessed riders, bike nerds, and everyday consumers ourselves, we know all too well how stretched our dollars are in today’s economy so it was vitally important to us that we pass whatever savings we could muster onto our customers. We are immensely grateful for the support of our amazing customers and community and we hope to enable more riders to experience the benefits of on-demand saddle control.

Shorter Wait Times. Like, by a Lot.

We will continue making SwitchGrades in small batches but now in higher frequencies to keep up with demand and shorten delivery times. Instead of 4 - 8 weeks as was standard, we are aiming to stay within 1 to 2 week turnarounds unless otherwise stated. Be sure to check online as the delivery times may vary from batch to batch. Of course, you could walk into your local bike shop and grab one directly if you can find one in stock
