pure speculation on my end, but i'd imagine it's not so much bitterness as just not wanting to work for free or give anything away for free. not sure how it all works in the end though.

It looks like he's also using a reduced offset fork. Coupled with the 150mm travel, this results in a geo that's not too far off from what he rode last year. Any difference can also be mitigated somewhat with an angleset or offset bushings.

3 reasons. 1. because 97.5 is a radio station. B. "reverse mullet" is breaking our community apart and we need to come together. III. beavis and butthead would laugh at 69er. if we need to go to court over it, our lawyers said that the "6" could come from "650b" and we'd probably have the case thrown out.

Specialized does not currently have a DH casing 29" tire for him to use on the front. He is running the Butcher DH 27.5 on the back.

Scott have done this before and Cannondale have also experimented with 2 shocks before, the most interesting thing to me is that Fox have clearly gone and had to make a brand new simple shock just to be the spring component of the bike.

good lord Phil on that ebike. Wonder if he has to carry one of those tubeless seat/pressure bottles to reattach the bead on his rear wheel 6 times a ride?

It sure seems there are multiple test frames out there, some with upper and lower shock options and one with only the upper... Hard to say but it seems like the bottom of the down tube has an access point to hide some stuff too.

The thing that´s weird though is that the frame doesn´t look like a proto. It looks like a production carbon frame. If this was a prototype, fine, but going carbon proto seems rather excessive and cost inefficient. So why build in that top tube mount if it´s not gonna do anything in the end? In the end it seems like a lot of trouble to go through just so people don´t get what´s going on. Obviously the linkage is theoretically able to compress two shocks at once. My guess, the upper coil does work as a pure spring and rebound...

Wonder if the spring part of the shock is designed to take side loads while there is a separate damper just for dampening. Wasn’t Ohlins saying it was difficult to design a shock for mountain bikes because it’s structrual and a dampener? This could be an attempt to eliminate that

remote resevoir like an avalanche hop-up kit? maybe just a hose, not a shaft in that first pic? looks like nothing is there in those 2nd shots. i love speculating off of 50kb screengrabs haha. can't wait to see it for real.

is there some kind of lower damper thing going on too? looks like a shaft or something between chainring and that linkage mount/pivot. i have no idea, just looks interesting.
