Join Rob and Eliot as they hike around the venue, getting their minds blown by what is shaping up to be an epic Rampage edition. We can't get our heads around Tomas Lemoine's canyon gap though...HOW do you even consider riding that thing?? (3:40 if you want to jump straight to that segment).
WOW - there's a cliffhanger (kinda literally!) at the end of Hannah's new VLOG - Cami sent The Minister but we don't know how it went!!! It all goes down in the very the last minute of the edit:
from perfect to "seriously?" - rampage weather - maybe it will actually work out. wind didn't look bad, but a front moving through like that could be rough.
I don't know about down there, but in my corner of the world the weather forecast tends to push out by a few hours or more. Looks like a tiny bit of rain in the morning, and evening, but total precipitation is minimal

Be great if it just sprinkled rain from midnight till 5 am Saturday morning. Give it time to soak in before finals and be a w***less (no one say the word!) day with some light cloud coverage.

I heard it didn’t go well
hopefully it wasn’t that bad but that’s a monster drop to have something go wrong.
I will continue to dig my heels into the narrative that the live broadcast is the primary cause of the vast majority of problems around Rampage and it should not be a live event. It doesn't have to be a 'week long' event like Fest either.
The time table should be more flexible, like surfing. With a 'waiting period'. And you get all your riding and content done and all that... And you cut a 'live' event, more of a premier, as soon as possible after final runs are done.
And a whole slew of other complaints, but in my opinion the 'weather' elements are the only ones that are avoidable but still forced on to the event due to a concept that honestly seems kinda legacy to me. Live events used to hold a different feeling back in the day. Nowadays, even without a full broadcast, I feel like I can be live 'anywhere I want' if I'm following who ever is there. Live content is not a challenge nor a goal now.
So the only thing it has to be is professional, which is fine. And not inherently tied to being live or not.

Hannah references that in the vlog that just came out, but she doesn’t give details. So shitty for Cami and the team.
Hannah ticking off some more features on her line, including a crash on the big drop mid-course which thankfully left her unscathed - she got it dialed in at the second attempt:
Has anyone heard anything about the rumors of Red Bull potentially dropping out as the event sponsor next year?
Would it still go ahead under a different name/sponsor? Hard to imagine it without Red Bull and its resources. Could be a huge change in pretty much every aspect of the event.

Cami confirms her crash on The Minister, "a couple of broken bones" was the result, we're gutted not to be able to see her send it but happy that the injuries aren't worse. Heal up Cami, props for the send!

Without redbull on board it seems like it would be a crazy lift for the organizers without that financial backing. The insurance, cameras, med helicopter, and permitting alone would be expensive and a lot to take on for anybody that doesn't have a lot of money or expertise in their corner to get through it. Im not on social media anymore but it seems like rampage doesn't have the impact virally that it maybe used to 5 to 10 years or so ago with people outside the sport. Unfortunately I could see why it would make sense to end it if it's not getting the views it once did, plus everything being more expensive, plus wanting to get out potentially before anymore serious injuries or worse.
Maybe if this does happen the new organizers will take it on the road to a different location or format?
That would be crazy if they dropped out. It feels like the marquee event and any issues they have to improve on could be solved with tweaks not scrapping. What would the event be without rb? They dang near started it
Event rookie Mikayla Parton hits her first ever Rampage feature - the first step must feel like the hardest one!

Robin looking SOLID for her first hits:
Having 2 daughters who've jacked themselves up in sports too many times to count, I can't watch the ladies hucking.
The dad worry comes out.

The men are getting their tires dirty too now, TVS looking dialed already:

Solid plan. Well done Sir!
Wind-free would be great. Really great.

You just had to say the 'W' word....

A couple of angles of Johny Salido's very exposed canyon gap - crazy stuff!
Chelsea Kimball making good on her IG handle!
WOW!
Anyone have an updated start list? Looks like Ice t (tom istad) is out so Ryan (finally!!) gets a shot at the big show?
Wildcards only get in if a current rider drops before the dig days begin.
If someone gets hurt in practice and can’t compete their spot goes vacant.
Aw man I was hoping Ryan would finally get his time to shine! So deserved for him to get a ride in rampage

Robin nails her biggest-ever step down backflip in practice (around the 8-min mark if you want to skip to the action):
