What the heck.... UCI is showing Men's Elite Q1 already as if it's underway, but they've apparently stuck the timed training times on the Q1 Results screen. Well, as their sponsor would say: "Whoop!"

The one we've all been waiting for, the first Vital RAW of the World Cup season is here, and it's a good one! Thanks to John Lawlor for the epic hustle getting this one to us so quickly. Healing vibes to Lou Fergusson who crashed on the big step down, and spare a thought for the wheel builders who have their work cut out for them after half the field cased it as well.

Which big step down do you mean? The thing from 4:09 and onwards?
I imagine it's the one that everyone was casing. Sleeper put out a post of tons of cases on that jump and captioned "Obligatory hucks on the questionable jump"
Yeah they probably should shave off the knuckle on that one and just let them send it to flat or squash it. Lou crashed and is out from that, Wyn crashed on it supposedly because someone pulled out there. Seems totally unnecessary.

I think that's also the one, in Jackson's preview, where he says "that's really hard to make the corner for." So it seems like the lead-in to the jump screws with the speed needed to clear it if you don't hit it perfect.
Training Day with Amaury, cool that we get to follow the process like this (use YouTube auto translate if your high school French didn't cover the World Cup rider version 😀 )
Lawlor sent a clip of the helicopter coming to get Lou Ferguson and said it arrived two hours after she crashed. She was being attended to, but that's quite a long time on the hill. Hope she's ok.
Looks like if they just cut out that off camber bump and make a berm it should ride pretty smooth. Really shouldn’t take much more mph to make it fairly easy to clear and there is definitely plenty elevation available to go much faster.
The UCI Mountain Bike World Series web site says Q1 (Women Elite first) begins at 12:30 p.m. Korea time Friday (their Friday). Does anyone know if they've changed the schedule at all? (I ask because they changed part of the schedule for training and never updated the site to reflect the change.)

I was looking at same and can't find anything either. Going to go and head up and try to sort tickets shortly and see what's what.
Also found this nugget on the UCI page, "With its challenging terrain and elite-level infrastructure, the venue promises a thrilling start to the new season." elite-level infrastructure is sure a funny way to put it...

Apologies if it’s been discussed but is there a broadcast for qualifying anywhere?
don’t jinx it!!
Last year whether or not they made a quali show had to do with XC or some shit…I’ve forgotten. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
Fingers crossed.
I’ll avoid the web for a few hours and see if they put something up.
Oh yeah: it was never live if they did it, it was a highlights / recap show. Which, both (?) times, were awesome. Wyn started pumping out a show he films as Q2 happens…that’s better than reading the results.
I just went from hyped to pissed again, remembering all this bullshit 😂
Long story short: they’ve never shown it live, short track XC is tonight which I think means they won’t make their recap show, but the only real way to be safe is to go radio silence and check in tomorrow.
I’ll be watching XCC tonight at 12:30 though, because why not.
As far as I know they have never broadcast qualifying. Sometimes we get a q2 replay. We’ll know to expect it if someone reports back that they are filming it.
Here's one of the only qualifying videos I could find on the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series Youtube channel. I won't embed the video to save space in the thread. It's the Q2 from La Thuile last year:

what is that about? has to be a glitch, eh?

Indeed.

edbull RAW is here
Can we get some shots of their tires after some laps. Those side knobs have to be taking a beating from the off camber and rocks.
Kolb took the B line around that problematic step down. Looked faster.

way better for the next corner for sure
it’s another one-liner, isn’t it
Any news on her & the other big crashes?
Full turq Yeti kit is sweet
Fast AF RAW below. Riding starts at 1:23.

I think the delay for practice was from Lou’s crash but not sure on that. Looks like today is on schedule so far

The track looks a lot better than I originally gave it credit before. The early videos didn’t really show the rock sections well. I’m pumped.

Does anyone have a link to the live timing?
Im not sure what happened to the schedule but somehow Elite mens and Junior men Qualy happened already
